Master shower didn’t drain while taking shower. There were ants crawling all over table in dining room area. Spring tails( bugs) in upstairs bathroom shower/tub. Spring tails ( bugs) all over kitchen counters. No tv remote for master bedroom. Was advertised there was Netflix and hbo to watch tv but did say we had to log in to our own account to use. Have stayed here before and last time it was fabulous so I don’t know if a new company is cleaning/ taking care of this home but was very shocked to see the difference between the two stays.

We could not make the key pad door lock thing open. I called and spoke to a customer service agent who told me it was because we were a little early. I asked if they could override it because we were tired and wanted to go in. "No" is the answer I got. Apparently it was impossible to do that. So we waited around the property only to try again at 4 and still could not get in. The customer service person helped me figure out how to get the key out of the lock box but I couldn't figure out how to shut it again and it was cold outside and the thing was wet and dirty. Clearly we could have been given this option before. We went inside and found that the house is nice but smelled strongly of old house smell. It's not musty but just not good either . The bath towels on the second floor were wet, the bathrooms were dirty, and there was water in the washing machine. Someone came and took care of those things. We never could get the locks to work so we just used the key the whole time. The bathrooms are very nice. The decor is nice but a bit sparce. More lamps in the living room would be nice. The front steps and railings are sketchy. The view is lovely and the neighborhood is beautiful. We had a good time. Overall I think I would have felt better if the house didn't smell so bad and if the front porch and steps were better.

The interior of the home served our purposes, was well located, and comfortable. We appreciated the dishwasher and clothes washer/dryer. While there was no air conditioning, the breeze through the home kept the temperature reasonable (although there are no window screens). When we arrived at our check in time, we found ALL towels hanging in the three bathrooms to be literally SOAKING WET (not just damp). Since we weren't certain of their status, we spent our first evening at the home rewashing and thoroughly drying them. We only received door code information for the back door and the parking in the back alley was tight. As suggested, we parked one car on the street, but had to go around the back to get inside the home. The front steps are steep and in need of repair. Further, the steps were partially obscured by the untrimmed front planting and weeds. The grass in the small backyard was long and brown with piles of dog poop in places. The management company chose to set up the patio furniture and BBQ the evening of our last day there and we had to hunt down the trash cans and wheel them back down the alley so we had a place to dispose of our trash. So, while the interior of the home was fairly well maintained, the exterior was not. Further, the VACASA management company provides a very impersonal experience. I believe the are located well outside the west coast area as I received a text at 4:30am regarding a maintenance person coming onto the property.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Would Not RecommendI really wanted to enjoy this vacation rental, but unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. Upon check-in, the home was in unacceptable condition — it was dusty, dirty, smelled unpleasant, and overall felt neglected. My group had to spend the first day of our vacation buying cleaning supplies and deep cleaning the space just to make it livable.Things only got worse when, by the third day, we discovered an ant infestation. I woke up to find ants completely infesting my suitcase — I even sent the hosts a video of the issue. Despite reaching out multiple times throughout our stay to address these concerns, I received no response at all. I was polite and communicative, hoping they would take our discomfort seriously, but I was completely ignored. It’s been over two weeks since I returned home, and I still haven’t heard back from anyone. This level of disregard for guests is unacceptable. I would not recommend this property to anyone — especially if you value cleanliness, comfort, or basic communication from your hosts.

Unfortunately, the house was not like I expected. Somehow, my daughter was unable to sleep; she was very congested and had a stuffy nose when she was asleep. There was no privacy at all, as there was no window or door curtain; anyone could see you from outside day or night. Also, there is no AC or kitchen fan. In addition, the windows were not opening. The only thing we like is that the rooms are big. Thank you

Beautiful home in a great location
We enjoyed the beautifully, spacious, renovated home. It had all the amenities we needed. A simple walk to our favorite coffee shop, Curan. The home can easily accommodate a family or several couples.

Exactly what we needed!
This home was exactly what we needed for our family trip. We have extended family in Seattle and Olympia. This was a great midpoint to see everyone. It was in an ideal area where we could walk to the waterfront and get coffee in the morning and explore the broader area throughout the day. The accommodations were so comfortable and it was nice they had a high chair and pack and play for our 8mo old to use.

Gem in old town Tacoma
Great house in a great neighborhood. Beautiful view and very walkable area. House was well appointed and comfortable. Be aware- approach to the front door is a serious of stairs that are fairly steep and a little slick. People with mobility issues would find this a challenge.

Overall the house was great for location & space. The outside could have used some trimming & cut back bushes so we could use the sidewalk. The back gate was hard to latch & our small dog found a hole in the back fence

Dissatified
1. I found Vacasa very unprofessional in communicating with me, in a timely matter, before our stay.
2. when ask to move the dates 1 day out I was quoted an unreasonably rate.
3. It was bear bones.. examples: no salt & pepper, no coffee, other little things other hosts have included ( I could have stayed at hotel)
4. 2 different emails with 2 different entry codes, so we started our stay with a game of guessing.
5. there was a beautiful patio with outdoor chairs, the weather was beautiful, outdoor pads on furniture would have been nice.
Overall, I will figure something else out for future visits to Tacoma. We are expecting our first grandchild in June, so I'll have to take my business elsewhere.

Tacoma stay
Great place, my family really enjoyed the atmosphere and it felt like a temporary home. Couldn't let the dog stay outside though, the yard was not fenced as advertised. Creaking doors upstairs woke the 2 year old at night. Could use some more glass tumblers for drinks.

Fun location!
The house is in a great location! The listing shows all the rooms perfectly. The house was clean and well equipped. Communication was very limited. The house had a unique smell and we couldn’t open windows due to no screens anywhere in the house except for one upstairs bedroom.

Graduation Celebration
Our 7 member family gathered for a week in this lovely spacious home in quiet neighborhood which was within easy walking distance to coffee shops and restaurants on Tacoma waterfront. The home was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The description states two parking spots in back of house, but recommend only one car park there as it is very tight quarters for entering & exiting or risk scraping your cars on retaining walls. Would have liked a bit better communication from owner prior to visit regarding a few questions that i had regarding backyard seating (none) and parking. Overall, would still recommend the home for stay.

Spacious, clean, great location
We stayed in this beautiful home for my daughter’s college graduation. Had ample rooms and beds. Home and linens were very clean. We all enjoyed walks around the neighborhood and walking to The Spar for cocktails and live music on Saturday night. Would definitely stay again if we needed a large home in a great area of Tacoma.

Beautiful house; great location
Spacious and bright, with a lovely view of Commencement Bay - this house was a pleasure.
Beds were all comfy, and four adults had plenty of space to stretch out and relax.
I plan to stay here again the next time I am in Tacoma for a conference.

Beautiful! * Family of 6 *
I decided on this house based on the interior style & price point. We arrived and the house was just as pictured! It was clean and we felt immediately comfortable. The character, charm and decor was sweet and reminded me of my grandmothers house.
We felt perfectly at home there.
At first we were concerned with the lack of curtains but that quickly passed - it’s a safe area and the house is high above street level. Its a lovely neighbourhood, super close to the water and walking trails.
The only thing I would suggest, is adding screens to the windows or doors. It would be super nice to air it out and let the fresh air in! Even if only in the upper rooms, I think it would add to the experience.
Overall great place, would recommend and stay again!
