Canal front pool home to Dora Chain of Lakes

Central Florida home that is a great jumping off point for a multitude of land and water activities. This single story (no steps) pool home is located on a canal that leads to the Dora Chain of Lakes and Lake Apopka. The Dora Chain is known for great fishing, all watersports, and waterfront dining. There is a covered boat dock available for guests, and a public boat ramp is about a mile from the house. Across the canal is undeveloped land which makes for great bird watching from the property, as well as being located near two spots on the Florida Birding Trail. There are 2 public golf courses nearby for golf enthusiasts. The historic town of Mount Dora with fabulous restaurants and shopping is 15 minutes away. Explore beautiful natural springs 20-30 minutes away. For those who may be interested in theme parks, Disney World is 45 minutes away. The Lake Apopka wildlife drive/trail is just 10 minutes away. Long & Scott Farm is just 5 minutes away and is open seasonally for agritourism. Kayaks (3) and bicycles (2) are included with the rental. Bring your boat or rent one from a rental company on the Chain of Lakes!

Everything was perfect! The house was roomy and open. The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. The host was quick to respond with any questions or issues we had. The pool was very nice. The boat dock had a roof which made it nice when it rained. The boat stayed dry! Having the lights on the boat dock was pretty nice too. We had dinner a few times at Mary’s kitchen located 5 minutes away. Great homestyle food! The Beauclair over in Dora was amazing! The salted fry in Dora was gluten free and delicious! We hope to come back and stay again! This house has been our favorite so far out of all the places we’ve stayed.

We were there for a month and cooked a lot of meals. The kitchen was very well stocked, not only with kitchen wares, but with staples such as coffee, bottled water, "tupperware", ziplock bags, paper plates and ample supplies of paper goods.

Clean, spacious and well-equipped

This was the perfect place for a group of old friends to meet up. Very clean with a well equipped kitchen (and sunscreen!) and lots of places to tell stories. The pool had the perfect amount of shade for us northeners. Beds were comfortable and clean. Saw some big gators in the canal, so we passed on kayaking. Would visit again.

Quaint Peaceful Stay

The home was in the back of a neighborhood, very quiet and relaxing. The house had the traditional 3 bedroom 2 bath setup. Nice pool area and the back yard was nice and big with a fire pit over looking a canal. Very nice boat dock with a hightop table for 2. The only issue we had was dealing with the hot water in the bathrooms. Strange enough you had to keep turning it off then back on to get your shower completed. Yet, the outside shower, we had no issues at all. I would stay at this house again, it was relaxing for sure!

Home away from home

House was well stocked above and beyond my expectations. I dont think it didnt have anything i needed. Kids had a great time in the pool, played chess and checkers quite a bit. We kayaked down the canal which was absolutely beautiful. The neighborhood was quiet and nice to take walks or ride bikes around. liz was always available to answer any questions. Would definitely stay again

The Perfect Vacation Home

My husband and I stayed the entire month of March in this lovely home. You will find this home inviting and stocked with everything needed. The beds are super comfortable, which is incredibly important. The hosts are accessible, if needed...but you won't find you need them much, if at all, as they've thought of and provided everything! The pool area is great just for relaxing if it's a bit too early in the year to enjoy the water. This place is the perfect get-away home!

Great hidden gem

This place is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood! Our kids throughly enjoyed the pool and our dogs loved having zoomies in the expansive yard!! The only drawback was the time to get everywhere. I didn't realize how big the lakes were and that it would take about 20 mins to get around them. If you don’t mind a little drive, this place is perfect! Liz was also very responsive and easy with. 😊

Perfect!

So many nice things about this home! The location was perfect for us since we had family in the area. We walked our canine family member every morning when it was cool and had daily runs and the neighborhood was perfect for both. Our 3 teenagers loved fishing off the dock and plenty of wildlife to see! The inside of the house was extremely clean and spacious. A tropical depression had formed and the homeowner reached out to see if all was well and if there was anything we needed. We will be back!

I was surprised at home well it was supplied with stuff . Even though the house is pet friendly it didn’t smell like pets at all . The pool was nice . The house was nicely decorated. Overall we would stay there again .

Girls trip

We had a wonderful experience! House was I. A perfect location for us. Pool, dock and canal were great. My friends fished from the dock. Very comfortable stay, we cooked a great meal on Sunday and had everything we needed to cook. I highly recommend this unit.

Awesome place fully stocked

The host has thought of everything! From water dishes for the pup to pool floats and ziplock bags! This house is close to Mount Dora in a safe neighborhood and the pool was awesome in the Florida heat. It was all we could do not to keep this review to ourselves but decided others deserved to know how wonderful it is!
