Nice but be aware

Nice view of the drone show from the top of the hill, need to trim the trees in front just a bit. Nice enough, parking is a plus, but the surrounding area is a little sketchy. Methadone and Suboxone clinic across the street, emergency room just behind, mental health in-house clinic a block away. The local restaurant fare is excellent though. Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast is basic but fits the bill. HVAC in my room had a squealing fan bearing that got progressively worse but the weather was nice enough and the window opened, no heat was needed.

We arrived early on a Tuesday before our room was ready. We asked if there was a place nearby for lunch. We were told about Bight near the waterfront. We had trouble finding it but asked at a shop for directions. They confirmed that the food there was very good but they are closed Mon & Tues. We found the Thai Kitchen instead, which was very good. Our room was very comfortable and clean.

The hotel is lovely and the location is walkable - ideal for a visitor. I brought my dog and was assigned to a room immediately next to the front desk. I asked to move and received a confusing response. There were people talking through the evening until about 10:30 so I had to constantly monitor my dog and it was not peaceful. Not a good location for a pet friendly room

A bit weird and glitches

There are no amenities. No restaurant. You have to walk to a crappy Freshco store and buy your own food. There’s really nothing around the hotel. The air conditioning in my room was broken. It’s an interesting heritage building. It’s probably better if you have a car.
