Or drain was clogged in our room. Toilet paper holder was falling off wall. Plus I had a handful of popcorn and when we were getting out of our car, I threw the popcorn on the ground for the birds . Then when I went into the lobby, the attendant told me that was unnecessary to throw popcorn on the ground. It wasn't litter. He said it needed swept up. He was very rude and told me no food is to be thrown on the ground or parking lot. Very rude customer service. We paid for 3 nights, but I was so mad we checked out on the 2 and day. They wouldn't refund me for the other night we didn't stay. I would never recommend this Wingate. It's privately owed, not company.

The hotel and facilities were nice but the rooms did not feel very clean. Very dirty around the perimeter and the fold out sofa bed did not have the appearance of being cleaned and remade with fresh bedding. We heard rumors of bed bugs and Orkin was on site during our stay. I guess it's good they are taking care of it if true. We did not see any bed bugs in our room but the room not being well cleaned really had us feeling nervous and paranoid about it. The pools were fantastic for the kids and the area had plenty of options for dining. We did wish the breakfast ran a little later than 9. When they say it ends at 9 they are not joking. All food was promptly removed from the breakfast area. Not even a yogurt or piece of fruit could be found after that time! The staff we encountered were all friendly. If the rooms had been clean and we didn't have the concern for bed bugs the stay would have been perfect.

Accommodations were perfect for my family and preschool aged grandchildren. It was quiet, comfortable and clean. We drove through town and saw crowds everywhere else but our stay was relaxed, and peaceful. It was easy to keep an eye on the kids while giving them the freedom to experience the slides by themselves with no wait. It felt like a hidden gem for families with small children to avoid crowds and enjoy a peaceful, clean worry free stay.
