Oh my goodness, we had such a wonderful stay at Casa Amapola! The home was clean, well stocked, and perfect for our family. We enjoyed the beautiful kitchen to make breakfast in, swam in the pool at night, and had great sleep in the spacious bedrooms. Our hosts were so warm and quick to communicate with. It’s clear they put alot of love into this home. We hope to stay again next time in PR!

Family Vacation

We traveled with a group of 9 for our family vacation, 5 adults and 4 kids with ages ranging from 8-13. The home was perfect for all of us. The gated community was beautiful, people were friendly and the home itself couldn’t have been any better. They were stocked with games for the kids, pool accessories for both the kids & adults, the kitchen had everything we needed & the backyard was an absolute oasis. They even provided a Bluetooth speaker and a basket of sun tan lotions, oils and aloe, which I thought was awesome (it’s the little things !) . We had perfect weather except for one day, and even on the rainy day we could still sit outside under the covered portion enjoying the beautiful view. The hosts were extremely responsive and were quick to help with any questions that had come up. My family and I have already discussed returning. If you’re planning a family trip this house has it all, the bedrooms, bathrooms, backyard, short walk to a private beach, pool in the backyard, gated community, fully equipped home, and it was extremely clean.

This property is amazing. House, pool and the beach a short walk away. Jose has thought of everything. The check in and check out was easy. Coolers, beach chairs, fishing poles, towels you name it. Recommendations for dinner and places to visit. Very responsive with questions. Will definitely be back.

This House Has it All

My family and I were thoroughly impressed with this property. From the check in instructions, to all the thoughtful amenities in the home, there is nothing I can complain about. This house has it all for every age. The owners were phenomenal with communication, the neighborhood is nice and quiet in a gated community, the beach is just a few steps away, and the views are incredible. I look forward to staying there again.

Spacious and Relaxing

Everything you need is here, down to the littlest details. Walking distance to the beach, rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The home is very clean and well taken care of. The only downfall were the stray cats. Apparently, the guests before us fed them and they were very persistent and one managed to make its way inside. This was a problem as I'm severely allergic. Please do not feed the cats, there are signs that state that.

Beautiful home in a great location!

We stayed at Casa Amapola for our 2025 family summer vacation, and it was the perfect location! Not in touristy area of PR, in quiet, gated community. Super short walk to the beach. Very reasonable driving distance to many awesome activities - our favorites were snorkeling up in Fajardo and hiking in El Yunque. House was as described / pictured and had everything we needed. Hosts had great communication. Highly recommend!

Our stay in Paradis

We spent 4 nights in this beautiful house and had a memorable time. The pictures and listing are accurate yet still exceeded our expectations.All the bedrooms are upstairs. One bathroom downstairs and one upstairs. It was 8 adults and two children and we fit comfortably. The outdoor area is the highlight and where we spent most of our time. The sound of the ocean as you're relaxing and spending time with family is unforgettable. The beach is private and only a few minute walk away. The owners are responsive and gracious. They've thought of everything and the house reflects that. This was our first time in Puerto Rico and Im so grateful I chose this property!

50th Wedding Anniversary

Our two adult children, their spouses and our two teen grandchildren joined my husband and myself for our week long celebration. The house was fabulous and adequately equipped for dining in, enjoying the pool or nearby unpopulated delightful beach. The five bedrooms made it so the grand gals didn’t have to share a room and they liked that as well.We particularly enjoyed being outside of San Juan and getting a feel for life across the island.Many thanks to our hosts.

Amazing home

This house was absolutely beautiful. We loved everything. Beach and bath towels provided, plenty of other resources provided such as pool floats, beach chairs, information about the area, air conditioning, fans, etc. THE KITCHEN WAS WELL STOCKED TOO. We Found a fabulous grocery store (Ralph’s) near by. The home was over an hour away from Old San Juan, the rainforest, rum tours, etc but it was located in a great and safe area. We loved it here!

A Perfect Spring Break Getaway at Casa Amapola!

We had an absolutely amazing spring break vacation at Casa Amapola in Yabucoa! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The house was clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated with a tropical charm that immediately made us feel relaxed and at home.The outdoor space was a true highlight—lush greenery, a peaceful vibe, and stunning ocean views. We spent our mornings sipping coffee on the patio and our evenings enjoying the warm breezes under the stars. It was the perfect base to explore the southeast coast of Puerto Rico.Jose, our host, was fantastic—friendly, responsive, and full of great local recommendations. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.If you’re looking for a peaceful and authentic Puerto Rican escape, Casa Amapola is a hidden gem. We can’t wait to come back!

Nice place to stay

We really enjoyed the house, pool and the beach which was quiet and nearby. It is quite a hilly area and 15 minutes to amenities but manageable. Most of the nearby, local type restaurants were closed Monday to Wednesday.Jose was easy to reach for any questions. Good time over all. Thank you!

Beautiful Casa Amapola

10 Friends went on a Week long adventure. The accommodations were great. A little bit off the beaten track but great otherwise. Did the El Yunge Rainforest as well as Icacos Island. Communication was great.

Perfect house

There were two couples and two single people. The house was perfect. There is a bonus outdoor shower. The house is well stocked with kitchen equipment, there was extra sunscreen, aloe, and a cabinet with staples such as olive oil, vinegar, spices, sugar, etc. they have a Bluetooth speaker available. we cooked dinner in several nights, Ralph’s grocery store is about 13 min away. La Carreta by Patty’s restaurant is 3 min away and is fantastic, the family who runs it is so friendly. the walk to the beach is 3 min, there is a calm part to swim in but also if you are good at body surfing the waves were good for that. The house has beach chairs, and beach towels. We would stay there again.

Wonderful family get together

We had a great vacation with our family that included three grandchildren 4 and under. The bedroom layout was perfect, and the common areas a good size for a large group. The outdoor space and pool was perfect--we really appreciated the way we could choose sun or shade when outdoors. Loved the gazebo! Outdoor shower worked well and helped keep the house clean. Lots of games for the kids. Plus, the instructions and restaurant recommendations were clear and good. Thanks for a great visit!

Christmas Vacation

The property is gorgeous and incredibly well maintained. It's secluded, yet still very accessible by car from San Juan. My family had a wonderful time relaxing by the pool, wandering along the beach, and gathering in all of the areas inside and outside of the home. Madeline and Jose added many nice touches including holiday decorations which made us feel right at home. You could not ask for better hosts.

Beach and pool quiet getaway

The house was perfect, plenty of room for 6 of us. Very clean and well organized, and the pool and outdoor area had a lot of seating and hanging out space. It's very quiet in the neighborhood, beautiful views of the surrounding beach and trees. Would recommend and stay there again.

Fantastic Place to Stay

My family and I stayed at Casa Amapola for the Thanksgiving week. It is very serene, with amazing ocean and mountain views. The house is very clean, the pool is great, everything works, nothing more you could ask for. The house is in a gated community, and it’s close to all the restaurants and nightlife. Things are really jumping from Thursday - Sunday, and very relaxed the other nights. The house is very close to shopping too, super convenient. We will be staying there again in the future for sure, thank you for everything JosĂ© and Madelline! See you soon!
