Good Hidden Gem in Amsterdam

The hotel was conveniently located adjacent to the De Vlugtlaan metro station, providing access to Amsterdam city centre and other attractions such as the Rijksmuseum in as little as 30 minutes. The neighborhood in which it is located is very walkable, with shops and grocery stores within 5-10 minutes walk. The hotel has modern facilities and is reasonably priced. I picked one of the most budget-friendly options, which was a room without windows. Despite it being next to the elevator, I found the room to be quiet and suitable for my needs. The interior design of the room could be improved, as placement of coat hooks and plugs were not ideal. Despite that, I found there to be a good amount of space for my time at the hotel. Wifi was also very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a breakfast for a fee but I opted to explore the city's restaurants instead. The complimentary fresh fruit and coffee at the hotel were much appreciated.

Friendly staff and very convenient location with bus and metro stops right outside. Be aware that you have to be 23 to check in at this hotel, something that isn't mentioned when booking (only in the fine print). We were able to fix this issue despite both being 21 however, it caused unnecessary stress. It's a decent option if you're on a budget but while we were it was obvious there it's dressed up to be a lot better than it is. The cleanliness and general upkeep of the facilities was poor. P.S if you're scared of lifts, this definitely isn't the place for you. The lift was terrifyingly old.

Wonderful stay!

Lovely stay. Didnt spend much time in the hotel apart from when finished my days in the city. The staff on reception were friendly and helpful. I had no issues during my stay. Would stay here again. Perfect location in my view as right by the metro, tram and buses.

Stayed at this hotel for The Dutch Grand Prix. It’s right next to a Metro station which is one stop away from Sloterdijk station where I could easily access trains to the race. Trains from Sloterdijk were also one stop from Amsterdam Centraal so you were never too far from the city centre. Aside from that travel convenience, the room was good. Small but clean. Daily cleaning was good. Customer service at reception was very good and friendly. The process of checking in and out was nice and simple. WiFi was a bit dodgy and would disconnect sometimes, that’s the only real negative for me. It’s a nice option

Warning

Never again. The manager was hot-headed and aggressive! The breakfast was a mess with unripe fruits, cheap discount bread, no pastries and the toaster did no work. Our room was dirty, had a broken window and a leftover sock. The had one decent girl in the reception all other staff was stressed out and behaved like kids. I feel kind of bad leaving this review, but there is many great hotels in Amsterdam NOT the new kit.

Good hotel for short trip

The staff at the reception were very friendly and helpful. The room was big enough for a short trip with a family but shaped in an unusual (child-unfriendly) way. It was nice to have parking in a paid garage but cumbersome to carry all luggage the long way from the car/garage to the room. The breakfast was expensive with very limited choice and bread/rolls needed to be ordered. There is public transport in front of the hotel but it takes 30-60 minutes to get to the centre.

Hotel New Kit was a great place to stay for my overnight trip! Easily accessible by transit and just a short bus ride from Amsterdam Central. Very clean room and hospitable staff. Highly recommended for solo travellers and groups!

Right next to the metro station so convenient to get into the city although this is a 20/30 minute journey. Also only a short journey from the airport. Rooms are clean with tea and coffee facilities. Coffee machine downstairs for guests. Nice location next to the river with some benches outside. Staff spoke English and were friendly. We were able to leave our bags at the hotel on the last day and pick them up on the way back to the airport.
