To the Management, W Amsterdam, I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding our recent stay from August 21-25. I booked two rooms as an anniversary gift for my parents, but the service was a complete disaster. Upon arrival, we waited 10-15 minutes for luggage assistance. At check-in, despite mentioning my Expedia Platinum VIP status, we were denied a room upgrade due to a "fully booked" hotel. I asked for a good room for my parents, but we were given two impractical, tiny rooms (505 and 329). My parents' room had no privacy. When I raised this, staff were unhelpful, stating, "this is what we have." My room, 505, was left uncleaned for two days despite repeated complaints. A filthy corridor bin attracted flies and smelled horrible for two days. I have video evidence of the poor cleaning, showing unchanged bed linens, my charging cables under the duvet, an uncleaned toilet, and unreplaced essentials like toilet paper, towels, and water. Finally, at check-out, we waited over an hour for a bellman. We eventually had to haul our own luggage to reception, only to find a bellman standing by, doing nothing. This entire experience was a continuous series of failures. I expected a high level of service from the W brand, but the lack of cleanliness and helpful staff was inexcusable. I request an explanation and a plan to address these serious service failures. Sincerely, Mohammed

Let me start by saying the service at this hotel was wonderful. However, the property itself is the strangest setting I have ever been. Our room was on floor 5, but we had to get off on floor 4 and walk 10mins before climbing lots of stairs to reach a section that is labelled level 5. You cannot access our room by elevator you must walk. Also, the entire floor hallway has 0 windows, 0 natural lighting. It felt like we were in a wwII bunker. The hotel was filled with odd photography, I suppose they are contemporary art but they are definitely not child friendly, they are images depicting sexually explicit images. Overall I this is not a 5 star hotel. We actually shortened our stay at this hotel and went to a different one because we disliked it so much. I would not recommend this hotel for families.. or people who enjoy natural lighting or normal architecture… not an underground tunnel.

The room was beautiful for sure. The service was poor. I sat for breakfast and 3 other tables who arrived after me were served & their food arrived before anyone took my order. Check-in was very slow because there was only 1 person working. A staff member asked came into my room without knocking & asked if I was checking out - I wasn't.

I came to Amsterdam to visit my friend and see Kendrick and SZA in concert at Johan stadium and I was pleasantly surprised at the suite I booked at W and their white glove customer service! I love love how walkable the area is. Their room service options were good quality and convenient and all my staff interactions were 10/10! I will definitely be returning.

The AC in the first room we were given was broken. We were moved to a second room where the AC worked well on the lower level, but not on the second where the bed was located. Also, the flooring around the bed was multi-step, dangerous when you go to the bathroom in the night. Strangely designed. Breakfast at The Porter was great and the staff at the hotel are very nice and accommodating. Nice location.

This is an expensive hotel. I was expecting better. There is no lobby to speak of. Just a tiny corner where you check in. The room was incredibly small. It was barely possible to get around the bed. There was no separate bathroom. The shower and the sink are basically in the bedroom. Only the toilet gets a separate room. There’s only two small elevators to service the whole hotel. It is not uncommon to wait several minutes for an elevator, and when it gets there you can’t get in because it’s full! The hotel is in a good location but there is no worthwhile view from any of the rooms. Our room was on the central courtyard and I could see everything in the rooms on the other side. Which means they could see in mine if I didn’t fully close the drapes. No privacy. Staff is nice, but they talk to you in a slightly condescending way. There are many hotels in Amsterdam that are nicer and cheaper. This one was a miss.
