There's a restaurant on site. WiFi is free in public spaces. Multilingual staff, tour/ticket assistance, and laundry facilities are also featured at The Station Backpackers. Self parking is free.
Surprisingly quiet, very cheap (room is quite run down), linen looked clean and pressed. Toilet looked very clean. Fridge and hangers were useful. Spacious. A relaxing night while out.
Unesisten igenic cleaning, I left the hotel cause I found bed bugs , orrible crowds , manager orrible ! Don't know if they did or warning the other costumers !
The property was conveniently located and an easy walk to town. However, it's on the road that goes to the highway and there are alot of big, noisy trucks that pass by.
Staff were really friendly and helpful.
Stay here with an open mind. It is an old building and it shows. However, it was very clean, tidy and had nice soap and shampoo.
The lift does not work, so if you have alot of luggage, might want to stay on lower floors.
We had an on-suite room with double bed. We had everything we needed. There was TV, fridge, tea and coffee and towels. The room was clean. The building itself is a bit run down e.g. the elevator wasn't working (but we stayed in the first floor, so no need for it). The rate was excellent, hence overall you get good value for the money if you are ok with basic accommodation. There was also a shared kitchen which was clean but we did not use it. The parking (about 10 cars) outside was paid parking but free on the weekend. However very much in demand so that we walked everywhere in order not to lose the spot.
We stayed in a double room with private bathroom. Room and bathroom were clean and tidy. Was a hot night, so a fan was provided. Was reasonable price for Auckland
Cold Water in Shower not working this morning. Hand Basin Cold tap dripping all night Couldn't turn it off.
Some pesky little biting critters in carpet.
Other than that I would stay again. I thought the Reception Staff were exceptional. They were extremely helpful & very Courteous.
Thank You!
Barry
The property is 1-star. It does have a kitchen and beds, but everything is beyond basic. I've stayed in hostels around Asia, Europe and South America, and they've never been this bad. To start, the staff aren't rude, but they're not exactly helpful. They also failed to mention that they don't provide towels - I walked to Westfield, and all the places that sold towels were expensive. The atmosphere is also quite bad - it doesn't have the fun atmosphere that other places have - it just feels seedy. i ended up leaving and booking elsewhere, but they wouldn't refund my money. Would not recommend at all.
