Stayed two nights. Friendly staff. Nice room in the main lodge—beautiful view of the waterfront. Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant onsite were also both good. A great home base for exploring the Cabot Trail. My wife enjoyed the outdoor pool, but a little too hot for my liking. Would definitely come back.

the property was nice, a dining room that was well above average for a motel property - but they failed on a number of little things that make the difference. dining in particular was disappointing - breakfast left the hot buffet long past it's best before time and staff didn't understand the food was no longer desirable. I guess dining room staff not properly trained was the big issue. otherwise a desirable stay.

We stayed in a hilltop chalet with a beautiful view of the Bras d’Or Lake. Beds were comfortable. We were able to park right in front of the chalet we stayed in. We would recommend a refresh of the chalet interior as wallpaper was peeling in a few spots. The dining room was very nice with a great view but we were a bit disappointed in the breakfast buffet which was not included. We did not like the French toast on the buffet at all, Also, it would be great to let guests get their own coffee refills at the buffet rather than having to sit with an empty cup waiting for the server to refill. The town of Beddeck is a great place to visit. We highly recommend driving around Cape Breton Island and the scenic Cabot Trail. Overall, we would recommend Silver Dart Lodge
