Fabulous and spacious 2 bedroom apartment, decorated and furnished to a luxurious standard, in the very best location beside Edinburgh Castle. Views directly onto Royal Mile. Every modern convenience. Designer fabrics, wallpapers, free wi fi, internet tv in living room and each bedroom, underfloor heating. Fully double glazed throughout. Secure entry. Cosy & comfortable. 200 yards from Edinburgh Castle. A great place to stay during the Edinburgh Fringe.

This apartment can accommodate a maximum of 6 persons. There are two bedrooms; 1 king size double with TV, one twin/double with two single beds en suite, double sofa bed in living room, 2nd bathroom. Bedrooms are peaceful and quiet at night. Separate kitchen, living room with 2 large windows looking directly onto Royal Mile/Lawn market. All windows in the property are double glazed. Bathrooms have under floor heating. There is gas central heating. The property retains great period features; old stone fireplaces, exposed ancient stone walls; and yet provides all modern conveniences and striking decoration.

Situated in the historic Old Town of Edinburgh, this is the best place to stay in the city. The Old Town is a World Heritage site. Steeped in history, packed with museums, visitor attractions, specialty shops, restaurants and pubs. Edinburgh castle is 1 minute walk from your front door. This area of the city has a real buzz and is a joy to explore. This apartment is however in a peaceful location late at night with no nightclubs or noisy pubs. This a great place to stay anytime but a prime location during the Edinburgh Festival/Fringe or at New Year.

Bathrooms and bedrooms excellent for cleanliness and supplies. Kitchen supplies and cleanliness good, but checks should be made for broken items before next arrival of visitors. Kitchen is equipped but small. Could not find manuals for working amenities like oven and microwave. This could be included in guest book on the table. Stairs to apartments are definitely a challenge with luggage. Would rate my personal experience as. Good. 4/5. Hosts instructions were clear, but not an easy place to locate on first attempt.

We had a great stay with our family of 5. We have three kids 7,9,&12 and this worked well for us. We used the couch bed for one of our kids. It was super useful to have two bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped and it was so convenient to have a washer. We are used to having a dryer but quickly adapted to using the drying rack that was provided.The location was hard to beat for its closeness to everything! We stayed during Fringe so it was noisy but nothing we couldn't handle. We did hear the Tattoo March out finale from the castle at 11 most nights (not Sunday) and then listened to the officials asking folks to stay on the pavement for about 40 minutes after but again ...it was ok for us. It was a close walk to most everything we wanted to see and to the fringe venues. Check in was seamless. Perfect instructions for getting in. Be aware that this place is accessed by a stone spiral staircase so if you have mobility issues this might not work. So watch out for the metal railing the handles that are sticking out because they could be on kid head level. Thanks for a great stay!

Fantastic location and as described. Stairs to apartment were steep circular with NO railing. Very dangerous. Carpets were stained and looked dirty. Bathroom floors had hairs in corners. Could have had a better cleaning job. All and all, we would stay again because of location, but my 80 year old mom would not.

This apartment would be a great place for two 20-something people to stay. It's in a great area with lots of night life. They could each have a bed and bath...perfect for two people. We are a family of four with large teenage boys. This tiny apartment was a tight fit for a full week. We let the boys have the bigger room and bath as it had the twin beds. The room with the full bed was much smaller and the bathroom had just enough room for one person at a time.We loved that it was an old building. The winding staircase is cool....but not for older folks. Toilet in the second bath is also really high off the ground (unusually so) so could also be an issue for some people.One thing that would've helped given it's Scotland in summer is light blocking blinds in the front bedroom. After the second night we remembered we had eye masks from the plane and slept in those. Which reminds me, the beds are super comfortable! Good mattresses and duvets. The owner was responsive and kind. He is very easy to work with. Overall, it was a nice experience. We miss Scotland already.

Can't beat the location!

This is simply the best location you'll find for a stay in Edinburgh, you're just steps away from Edinburgh Castle! We felt like we were in a fairytale just sipping tea and looking out our front window. You can wander these streets for hours and always find something to look at. Having a full apartment with two separate bedrooms and two bathrooms was wonderful for our family, and it felt very private and not like we were on top of each other the whole trip. I would stay here again.

Girls weekend in Edinburgh

A charming apartment in a premier location on the Royal Mile. We were able to walk to all sites. Clean, updated rooms, appliances and facilities. The beds were comfortable. The hosts were very communicative and responsive. We had absolutely no issues or concerns.

Perfect location

You cannot beat the location if you’re going to the Military Tattoo and Fringe events. You’re a stone’s throw away from the Tattoo and the Castle. The front bedroom (facing the street) is not ideal for light sleepers as the Jolly Judge (a popular pub downstairs from the apartment) gets keg deliveries starting around 4:30 in the morning. The pubs close at 11 so noise from the patrons isn’t a problem. The keg delivery schedule is a bummer for light sleepers. The back bedroom seems more insulated from that noise.

Edinburgh Marathon stay

Came in with my family for the Edinburgh Marathon.The host was very easy to work with and the location is great. We have visited Edinburgh the last three years in a row and know the area well. However I feel there are a few things lacking and some issues with overall cleanliness of the unit, especially in the bathrooms. That said, we would return and rent this flat again.

Amazing flat in amazing location

My family stayed at the property for four days during it vacation in Scotland. The property is as advertised. Two nice sized bedrooms, two bathrooms, nice living room and kitchen. Despite being right on the Royal Mile it is quiet and feels very private. It’s close to everything a tourist would want to do. The host has great communication and the glass was spotless. I would 100% stay again. Do be aware the stairs to the flat are historic. It is a stone circular staircase but you get used to it quickly.

Perfect Location

This is a beautiful apartment in a perfect location. If you want to be right in the center of the action, this is the spot. There are endless choices to eat and drink right outside the door. OK, the stairs are a challenge especially if you have been down to the Jolly Judge for a couple of pints, but it's worth it. We spent a lot of time with either a cup of coffee or a glass of wine just people watching out the front window. Would definitely return to stay again.

What an amazing place

We absolutely loved this place. It is right in the heart of the royal mile. Easy access to everything. The place was very clean. It must have been redone in the past few years. The place was big enough for us - family of 5 with 3 teens. Communication with the host was excellent. I probably sent him a few more emails than what he liked as our arrival times changed but he was always gracious and quick to reply. I would definitely recommend this place. 5 stars from this family.

Amazing location, beautiful and comfortable apartment

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated being right on the Royal Mile, just a couple of minutes’ walk from the castle. The Jolly Judge pub next door was incredibly scenic and cozy and we also enjoyed the live music at Ensign Ewart’s pub just a minute’s walk up the street. Sunrise from the overlook at the castle is amazing and there’s a gorgeous hike up Arthur’s seat at the bottom of the Royal Mile. A great place to take it all in!

Location is Everything!!!

We loved our stay in this apt. Location Amazing. Steps from the castle and so much more. We did feel that there could have been more info left. Owner does have a manual with restaurants/menus & mapping, however it would have been nice to have local phone #s for taxis, emergency etc. That being said I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I do not think you could find a better location.

The flat was right on royal mile. It was a great location. Having 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms was perfect as I was traveling with my parents. The flat was very clean. The beds were comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.

Our family had a terrific time staying in this flat in this location. The flat is gorgeous and extremely clean and cozy. Paul was very accommodating and gave us great advice about the area, including suggestions on what to do and places to eat.
