Good! Could Be Great If A Few Issues Are Addressed
My family of 5 really enjoyed our stay. It was a great location - 15/20 minute walk (depending on how slow or fast you walk) to Il Duomo and major attractions. Good food choices near-by, including a great breakfast bar 2 blocks away. I do have a couple of complaints - the air conditioning in the master bedroom was not functioning properly. We contacted the owner and he messaged back thanking me for letting him know, but no attempt to fix it. In addition, the floor was not the cleanest and pretty dusty. There were some ants around on the last night/morning of our stay and I let the owner know when we checked out. This apartment has the ability to be really great if these small issues are addressed. There was plenty of room for my family of 5 (kids ages 20, 13 and 12) compared to other apartments in Europe. The 2 full bathrooms were modern and spacious. I would definitely consider staying here again when we visit Florence again as long as these issues are addressed.
Great and very responsive host. The apartment is an easy walk away from the Duomo yet located in a section of florence not overly populated with tourists and great local restaurants nearby.
The apartment was on ground level walking distance to the main sites of Florence.
If you are a light sleeper you may find the main bedroom noisy as you could hear the foot traffic as well as the cars.
Contact with the apartment managers was easy and they were very helpful.
We had a ok stay at the apartment. There were some good and bad experiences.
First the good...The communication was quick via Whatsapp. The apartment is in a nice quiet area within walking distance to all the touristy areas, and relatively clean with comfortable beds and sofa. They let us check-in a little early to drop off our bags. There are some crazy locks on the door so it felt safe.
Now the not so good...The shower in the second bathroom is super tiny with barely enough room to even turn around. Both showers leak, which is causing mold to grow on the walls and baseboards. There were lots of ants in the corner of one rooms, but they kept to their corner, and so did we. The gas cooktop burners do not work. They asked us to buy a lighter from the store at night to start it (cost was reimbursed). A little scary but that was the only way to cook anything.
Side note...The laundry machine is in a small closet with the cleaning supplies/mops/etc. It is an all-in-one washer/dryer combo machine. There were no instructions and we couldn't figure out how to use it, so we didn't.
Overall, it is a convenient location. The reason to get an apartment vs. a hotel room is for the kitchen (which hopefully they will fix), laundry (which would be nice if there are instructions), and the extra space to spread out (which there is plenty).
The apartment was so close to everything. We walked everywhere. The staff was very nice and super accommodating. I highly recommend the apartment because it had everything we needed.
