Great Stay!

Overall it was a wonderful stay! I am a local that wanted to do a single night staycation with my mom, a girls’ weekend. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the tiki bar and pool area. Unfortunately the restaurant wasn’t appealing so we went out for dinner. If I was to critique anything it would be the restaurant. It felt more like a cafeteria which would be good for breakfast in the morning however it lacked the type of dining vibes that most would appreciate while enjoying dinner.

Overall, this was a nice property and staff was great. Some things I looked at before booking that I feel need clarification. The onsite parking is for valet and staff only and if you are not using valet you must park across the street in another lot which is a bit inconvenient. On site usually refers to around the building, not a remote lot. The valet and certain guests also utilized the handicap parking spots near the lobby. I did not see a single handicap plate or placard but I did see more than one elderly people waiting for handicap spots and ended up parking elsewhere. The property details page shows beach chairs and umbrella included, cabanas are a added fee. I even called to make sure beach chairs were provided on site as many other properties in the area do. This was not true, the pool chairs are on the patio but there is no beach chairs/umbrella provided, since a rental company sits at the pool and rents all beach items. When I pointed this out to the front desk they seemed confused about the difference between pool and beach. The grounds crew starts work at 7am, with gas powered clipper and blowers. That lasted about 90 minutes, so don’t expect to sleep in. Lastly, the pool bar tender stated tips were not automatically added, so I left a cash tip. Then I saw there was a tip listed on the receipt. Hard to believe she didn’t know that but would be helpful to know what is and is not being charged before swiping the card.

Do not book partial ocean view

The rooms were newly renovated but still had signs of severe wear and tear. The “partial ocean view” was a joke - we just stared out at the roof of the boutique blocking the ocean. The fire alarm went off at midnight, scaring us and urging for an evacuation. Room was never cleaned and only provided with decaf coffee. That said, it’s in a great area, steps to the beach, and the pool and hot tub were great. The tiki bar was overpriced and rowdy. Go to the tiki bar at the restaurant next door for a cheaper, better experience.

When I checked in the hotel, I specifically asked if I had the breakfast option. I was told that I didn’t but two days later the front desk receptionist brought breakfast tickets to my room and stated they forgot to give these to me. when I asked for a refund since I was only able to use them for one breakfast as I was checking out at 6 AM on Sunday, I was told that I couldn’t because they were prepaid through Expedia. Nothing was VIP about my experience.

The microwave door didn't open properly, had to be banged hard. The power went out for 4hrs one night. The cabanas IN the hotel property had to be rented. There was a heated argument among hotel guests by the pool area. the AC unit had a leak internally and could hear the dripping at night. I will not be recommending or staying here again.
