The room was spotless, the staff and accommodations were excellent. Our service animal was accepted as a valued customer as well. We definitely stay at SCP anytime we are in Hilo.

Very dated room, but clean, so for the relatively low price I can't complain. Enjoyed the indoor/outdoor lanai patio area during the evening with comfy chairs, cool breeze, and happy singing frog.

I picked this hotel based on location. I selected the least expensive room and that was a huge mistake. I’m not sure if it’s the same in every room but the large plane traffic around the clock often woke me up as well as the street traffic. I always travel with a white noise machine but this time it didn’t help. I guess I get what I paid for. And isn’t reflected in my 4 star review. The staff were friendly, helpful and kind. I did not run into any staff that I felt was rude. The actual room was nice. I didn’t think the little AC unit was going to do anything but it worked great. But it was noisy every time it was on. I kept thinking it was a motorcycle. My only complaint about the cleanliness. I hate finding hair everywhere. On the walls. On the shower walls. On the towels. And it wasn’t my hair. It was the wrong color. The hotel has bikes and paddleboards guests can use. The pool was nice, although I didn’t use it. Overall I would stay again but in a different room, unless they are all noisy. Great location- close to the ocean and 45 minutes drive to Volcano National Park

What an adorable little hotel! Had a great aesthetic vibe. Loved the coffee with coffee mugs that they repurposed from the thrift store. The water filling station in the lobby was a bonus. Rooms were super cute and decor was beautiful. The hotel staff was amazingly friendly and we enjoyed our stay! Great location!

The room had some boutique touches that looked nicer in photos than in real life. The staff was lovely. Unfortunately, the hotel is located across from a busy street and a park. Locals partied loud and late, peeling out in their trucks and racing away. There is no room safe, and our door was flimsy. I was worried about our iPad and computer whenever we were not in the room. The rooms also were noisy as you could hear the neighbor's conversations and the in-room air conditioners were in old style slotted glass crank out windows.

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful in locating the best room for our preferences. In addition to the bedroom furniture, it seems that the hotel common areas and grounds have been recently remodeled. However the bathrooms, windows, and doors are in desperate need of an upgrade. The hotel is very close to the airport so it can be convenient but when the planes went overhead it was very loud, and the walls are so thin we could hear the people in the next room conversing. We were worried about the small window air conditioner not working well, but it cooled off nicely.
