Great location near Hyde Park and Paddington Station. Hotel was clean, staff were great. Rooms are small but plenty of hot water. No AC and it was warm out so a bit uncomfortable at night. Nice little bar and great breakfast.

Family run gem with affordability in London

This hotel is a great value. The location, near Paddington, offers easy access to the sites as well as numerous restaurants nearby. The rooms are small but breakfast is included and everything is clean. And the staff is lovely. We were there during a heat wave and they put out cold water and ice for us! There’s no AC but I was just fine with the fan even though it was in the 90s.

This hotel is in a great location and is easy to get to from Paddington. The staff were very nice and the included full English breakfast is a great add on! The room was very crowded and hot. There were a lot of things that didn't need to be in the room that perhaps would have been better upon request - like a huge tea set taking up most of the table. There were power outlets only on one side of the bed and the bed was uncomfortably close to the bathroom door. The bathroom did not have any conditioner and the hair dryer did not work.

Old English hotel charm. The property is faded but the staff is fabulous. It’s also convenient to Paddington and places to eat. Stayed there for a night every few years because it is safe, friendly and convenient.

Loved this place for the one night I needed it. Excellent location and it felt safe walking around late at night. My room was basically a closet, but I didn't need much. Highly recommend as it was great value for the price with lots of restaurants around.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is very convenient and close to the Paddington Station with lots of shops and restaurants around. However, the hotel is quite outdated and rooms are too small. The cancellation policy is no refund no matter what the circumstance. There is no air conditioning in the rooms and the breakfast is rather terrible. lol

The front desk and breakfast room staff were very courteous and helpful. The breakfast was average, but satisfying. It's an old hotel that looks tired and in need of sprucing up. The mattress is old and needs to be replaced. The absence of a room air-conditioner resulted in an uncomfortably hot room at night. Note that the windows couldn't be opened.

The best things about this place were the location, the breakfast, and the staff. The things that were bothersome were one size of towel only, faucet water was separate hot and cold water- not combined together and shower water temp varied during the shower. I did not realize that there was no AC, so if I travel with any risk of warm temps, then I would not stay here.

As I had stay at the Mitre at the end of May, i booked myself there for the end of my trip. When i got there they had me in 4th story room, facing the setting sun and no air conditioning and nothing but a small van for circulation. The tempuratuee that day had risen to mid 90s and the room was so hot, that i almost fainted when I entered the room. At this point, they will need to get some kind of cooling system in place for me to come back.
