We stayed at Mitre House Hotel on the evening of the 5th of May, 2025. It was chill in London with a steady breeze, and occasional rain. We had two rooms on the 4th floor. Mitre House Hotel is an old hotel and the rooms are small, very small by some standards. It’s quite worn. But it’s a superb value for the price, and the rooms are quite clean, in our limited experience. It is also very centrally located, a block from Paddington Station, and once at Paddington Station you can go anywhere in Great Britain. Mitre House Hotel is within walking distance of many great London venues such as Kensington Gardens and Harrods and more. We found that we walked six miles in one day because we went from one site to the next. Also there are a variety of restaurants with qualities ranging from poor to superb within walking distance. The staff was cheerful and effective, and the breakfast on the morning of May 6th just before our flights was classic English and well-prepared. All in all, we hope to come back to Mitre House Hotel as soon as possible.

Great location near Paddington station

A ver well located hotel a block from Paddington station and about 300 metres from Kensington gardens. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast that includes cooked to order full English breakfast. Parking is available on site. There is a small bar where you can relax after a day out. The staff are friendly and helpful offering suggestions for restaurants and sightseeing. The hotel and our room was clean. The only negative I would say is that it needs updating. The room we had was very dated which affected our initial impression . For example doonas and a paint and lose the shower curtain! We would return.

All the floors are warped because the place is ancient, but the staff is friendly, they cooked better eggs than the 5-star in Bath, and the location is great.

I will return to the same hotel next time.

The hotel is cozy & clean and staff members were friendly. Breakfast was good. It would be nicer if there was a little more space. But it was in the middle of London so it was anticipated. I will return to a bigger room next time per hotel recommendation.

The hotel staff were very helpful with all needs and the breakfast was first rate. The lack of air conditioning was overcome by openning the window and the surrounding neighborhood was quiet enough to sleep peacefully. The single elevator required some patience but was quick once it arrived.

Very helpful staff. Breakfast was very nice. The rooms are rather small but tidy. Car park was easily accessible with plenty of parking available. They let me park my car for a bit longer after check out for no extra charge, not in their policy but a gesture of good will. Thank you

Frequent visitor to Mitre House

I try to stay at the Mitre House on all my trips through London. The location is excellent, yet far enough away from the busy streets so you don't hear much traffic noise. The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast is very good.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 8 nights during our first trip to London. It was an excellent place to stay. The convenience of the location to Paddington station was priceless and made getting around London and getting back to our hotel so easy. The front desk staff was always kind and helpful and even helped me make a phone call one morning when I was having an issue with my Oyster card. The breakfast selection was great, although we ate out a few mornings, I would say we had the included breakfast at the hotel about 5 times and they had a good variety of items to choose from. We loved having tea with breakfast every morning, but they also had coffee. The hotel location was very quiet and cozy and we felt safe there for our whole trip. The building is probably very old (but we liked that) and it's kept very well and was perfect for our trip. We would definitely recommend it and hope to return again sometime.
