Airport shuttle was excellent and Rehana, our driver, was outstanding... very friendly and helpful. I hope we see her again some day. Our room was wonderful, and the breakfast was outstanding... better than some of the five star hotels we have stayed at in London U.K.

Typical airport hotel. The staff at the desk were helpful and friendly. The restaurant was just okay. Our waiter had some difficulty with English, but it wasn't an issue. The shuttle was on time. It's a decent option for an early flight.

Serivce in restaurant/bar was terrible. Ordered chicken burger with specific instructions that there be plain mayo and no cheese or salad. Came out with spicy mayo. Returned and told them i wanted plain mayo. Next burger came out with plain mayo but with cheese. Returned again. 2 mins later burger came out again but was like chewing leather as they obviously cooked it to quick. I asked for a refund. Told me id receive refund within 7 days. Will see how that works out.

The showerhead in the bathroom is in a very unhygienic condition, and the air conditioning system is prone to frequent breakdowns. I suggest that the hotel enhance its cleaning procedures, replace worn or faulty equipment, and carry out thorough inspections regularly.

Any port in a storm…

Delayed arrival at Manc Airport meant it was unsafe to drive my family home. This necessitated a last minute hotel booking - so in that respect, Clayton did its job perfectly well. It is, however, a very tired hotel and any stay longer than one night would be a depressing experience.

You get what you pay for

Big hotel , ideally located 5min walk to the tram/train station. Hotel its self was good, rooms were big, beds comfy enough for 1 night. Nice if they were bigger - were used to a super king. Bit tricky to use the loo with the grab rail so close - a larger person might struggle. Noticed some stray beard hairs around the sink from the previous occupants shave and upon having a shower , I discover the provided shower gel was empty ! Extortionate prices in the reception for a packet of crisps and a drink - £8 ! I thought the hotel smelt musty but the husband couldn’t smell anything. So maybe just me. You could hear the guest next door - just having a normal phone conversation. No A/C in the room, and an open window just let in noise from a plant room ? Check in / check out easy enough, all done by self service. All in all , suited us for the location and price , elements could’ve been better.

Airport hotel done right

Great for an early morning flight from Manchester airport, literally 6min walk and you are going through security. Surprisingly quiet for such location, I expected more noise from the traffic and planes but the night was pleasant. The shower was a little outdated but I would stay again with no issues.

Convenient for the airport. Good choice at breakfast. Free shuttle to airport. Didnt like the check in screens would rather talk to a person, also was directed to use screen to check out. I didnt like that. Bed quite comfy, decor a little dated in the hallway. Bath so narrow you can barely stand in it. I thought that was quite unusual. and dint like the bathroom door hitting the toilet each time you opened the door. Apart from that it was a decent stay. I ate at the restaurant which was quite good.

Before we fly

The included shuttle from the terminals and Airport Railway station is a real bonus. The welcome is always positive and the room are juat right for an overnight stay. The bar is well stocked and the food offerings are good and reasonably priced.
