"This is a lovely, historic property in a great location across the street from the Military Memorial/Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, next door to the canal locks and Parliament buildings, across from the Senate, near lots of good restaurants, and walkable to many attractions. The city itself is very walkable. I think most people would enjoy it and find it to be 4 or 5 stars. In particular, the gold rooms with access to an executive club are lovely and the club had a great breakfast, snacks, Jura coffee machine, and evening fare and desserts. Alcohol was not included (it is at JW Marriot, Ritz-Carlton and others like that, so it was surprising), but available for a fee. The three problems we had are ones we have at many places, although never at the Ritz-Carlton. The pool (which is beautiful in the style of an old roman bath), was too chilly - even a 13-year old boy mentioned it to us and kids that age usually could care less; there's no wheelchair access to the pool (my wife can do stairs so we managed, but it is not handicap accessible for the most part), and the chromecast never worked despite maintenance trying to fix it. The staff told us it's often a problem. We really enjoy watching Netflix, Prime and the like at the end of the day so it was disappointing. The hotel did pay for a movie if we wanted to do that on demand instead. But from a high end hotel, we expect streaming or working TV with access to our own services. Likewise, we expect accessibility to everything."
