We checked in late and staff were very courteous and polite throughout. We were given a disabled room with pull cords and handrails which was spacious and well appointed. However, the shower didn't drain, and the toilet was wobbly as the bolts attached to the floor had rusted through. This needs urgent addressing in a disabled room. The pre-booked breakfast was very tasty but after checking in with waiters we waited 30 mins. We enquired where our breakfast was and it then turned up 5 mins later with the wrong items. We waited another 20 mins for the missing items, while others were getting served, before giving up as we were now late for an engagement. It is a nice hotel, with good food, and really nice staff. I suspect we may have got unlucky with our experience but worth knowing.

The staff at The Moorings are all friendly and helpful though, at times, you might struggle to find one! Everything is clean and comfortable though just a little tired round the edges. We will continue to use it as our base every time we visit that part of Scotland (3 or 4 times annually).

Or stay was very pleasant on the whole. It seems because i asked for a quiet room we ended up in one of the smallest. That was the only down side of our stay that we didn't have a lot of room in our bedroom, especially considering we were staying for a week. I did mention it when we were leaving and they explained that was why. I think i would have preferred a discussion or being given an option about it. I guess it doesn't always pay to mention what you might like so probably my fault
