Charming Hideaway - Walk to French Quarter
This 130-year-old house sits on a quiet, oak-lined street in the historic St. Roch neighborhood. Itâs an easy walk to Frenchmen Street and the French Quarter, and surrounded by the local color of the Marigny and Bywater. Whether you're here for music, food, or architecture, this location makes it easy to exploreâand easy to come home and rest.
The house itself is a lovingly maintained two-bedroom with high ceilings, French doors, and a few quirks to remind you you're in a place with history. Itâs not a hotelâthankfullyâbut it is clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped for short- or long-term stays.
What Youâll Find Inside: Two bedrooms in shotgun layout with real mattresses, soft linens, and plenty of blankets for a solid nightâs sleep.
A full kitchen with gas stove, coffee setup, and plenty of cookware if youâre staying in.
A washer and dryer tucked off the bathroomâespecially helpful for longer stays.
A bathroom with good water pressure, tankless hot water, and large walk in shower.
A cozy living room with comfy seating, fast Wi-Fi, and a smart TV.
Thoughtful touches throughoutâfrom books and art to extra towels and kitchen basics.
Step Outside: The courtyard is yours to enjoy during your stay. Itâs a private space with brick underfoot, tropical plantings, and lights overheadâperfect for morning coffee, reading in the afternoon, or an evening cocktail. There's a grill available if you'd like to cook outside. Just ask if youâd like it set up with fuel.
The Neighborhood: St. Roch is a residential area with deep history and a strong sense of place. Youâll see families, elders, artists, tradespeople, and musicians coming and goingâfolks whoâve lived here a long time, and others whoâve just arrived and fallen in love. The house is just a few blocks from the St. Roch Market (a great place for a quick bite or cocktail), and you're close to some of the best dining and nightlife in the city without being right in the thick of it.
You can walk to Frenchmen Street in about 15 minutes, and from there itâs just another 15 to Jackson Square. Rideshares are quick and affordable if you're venturing farther afield.
A Note About the Space: This is a home with personality. It's not sterile or overly curated. Thoroughly clean, comfortable, and well stocked, itâs a little worn in, a little magical, and very representative of life here in NOLA.
How close is Charming Hideaway - Walk to French Quarter to the airport?
This vacation home is 16.1 mi (27-min drive) away from the Louis Armstrong New Orleans Intl. Airport (MSY) airport, the closest popular airport to the property.
Charming place! We stayed for two nights and had a very nice time. The house is very cozy with a lot of thought put into comfort. The St Roch Market which is just down the street is a must do. Since the weather was very cold during our stay it was a bit too far to walk to French Quarter but it was an easy drive to a parking garage and then walk from there. Jared was very nice and accommodating!
Itâs a little bit more of a hike to french quarter than you would think, but very doable with good shoes! Very nice to come back and relax in the patio space out back after a day out.
This place was exactly what we had hoped for as a family NOLA experience! The decor screamed New Orleans. Very clean, accommodating, & up to date. We happen to run into our host Jared upon arrival as he was walking his dog Ronda. He welcomed us and even opened the door for us. We only saw him one other time on the street as he said hi and was very upbeat & cheerful. The parking was great as it has its own driveway off the street. Super clean & charming home. So close to the French quarter & other sites, that once we parked, we were able to see everything we wanted on foot. I would 100% recommend staying here for a true NOLA getaway.
We absolutely loved our time here! The home itself was stunning and a perfect representation of the NOLA vibes. The location was fantastic, walking distance to amazing food, drinks and sites. And Jared was the absolute best host weâve ever had!
Great host! We loved our stay and close to many things NOLA. The St Roch Market is 2 blocks away and highly recommend stopping in for food, drinks, or coffee. Such great food and multiple options for food in 1 spot. It is walkable to coffee houses, pin ball bar, taverns and shops. We were able to walk to Bourbon street and the river but was nice to stay off the beaten path. The bed was super comfy and enjoyed the courtyard area. The location worked great for us.
Beautiful home in one of my favorite neighborhoods
Weâve been here for 12 nights and we are sad to leave. Weâve been welcomed to the neighborhood bars and restaurants. This home has everything needed to make us feel at home.
