Horrible Experience at Woodspring Suites

Upon check-in the front desk clerk was trying to charge us, even though we pre-paid. We got to our room and the carpet in the hallway at both our door enterance and two of our neighboring rooms was filthy with debris, crumbs, a fake nail, and looked to be floor sweepings. Once inside discovered NO toilet paper, kleenex, shampoo, conditioner, blow dryer, hand towels, only 1 bar of soap, no iron...the kitchen was completely empty of any utensils, glasses, dishes or supplies. The bedspread had stains. When I went to tell the front desk clerk, he apologized and handed me roll of toilet paper and 2 hand towels. When I asked about the shampoo, etc..he said he would check it out - we never got it. If it wasn't so late at night and no refundable we would have left! The elevator and hallway had a foul smell - We will never stay at another hotel in this chain (Woodspring Suites) this location was in Lacey/Olympia, WA and had a good 7.4 rating...this was one of two of our worst hotel stays ever! Would NOT RECOMMEND! What is stated on their brochure is totally false for what we experienced!

Woodspring Suites in Lacey is wonderful if you need a prolonged stay and basic, basic amenities. This place is closer to a dorm room/studio than a hotel. There are no included amenities, the surrounding area leaves a lot to be desired, and the staff were all but non-existent. Still, for the price, and with a bit of forethought, a prolonged stay at this facility could be really nice.

Check in process was problematic. Although my credit card was showing approval for the temporary authorization for incidentals the front desk person requested I tap my card four times. They need to figure out the glitch in their system to avoid this for future customers. I looked afterward and gave four pre authorization holds on this credit are just from trying to check in. It made for a terrible first impression.

I like the hotel, but I would only recommend it if you plan to live in the area for two weeks or more. Also, because of how the hotel deals with third-party websites, the place does not provide dishes or coffee unless purchased.
