I chose to stay at this hotel with my family for its proximity and convenience to walk to many attractions. That being said, we realized sooner rather than later, that the hotel’s location suffers due to the community hub directly across from it. There were a few incidents that made it feel “unsafe” and for that reason I would not recommend if you are traveling with children. Be advised that there is a daily fee for parking and unless you are traveling in a tiny sedan it will be difficult to navigate any other vehicle in their unground parking. There are a couple of off-site parking lots, but I wouldn’t dare leave valuables or feel safe leaving it there (see others’ reviews). The pool was smaller than expected with a capacity of 10 and was “out of service” for 2 of the 5 days we were there. On the flip side, the room was clean, quiet, modern and exactly as expected from this chain. The breakfast was great and offered a variety of hot dishes. Front desk staff was generally friendly and helpful. I will continue to seek out this chain of hotels for family travel in the future, just not at this location.

The sofabed in my room was terrible. The elevators doesn't have the capacity needed at rush hours neather the breakfast room. We arrived at 9pm and they didn't have more space in the parking so we had to park in a public parking in an unsafe area. The hotel location is very centric and convenient but it have a homeless shelter in front. Rooms were very cleanes and well maintained

It is near a rough area but it is not the fault of the hotel of course, and I still felt safe (as a man). I don't know Ottawa well enough to comment knowledgeably, still I would suggest parking with a little thought (if the hotel is over capacity (ie weekends). Nice hotel though.

Clean and nice staff. Our room and the bathroom were clean and in very good condition. Free breakfast was nice as well. Don't get discouraged by the shelter across and some homeless. You have options to avoid them. My complaint was more on the available parking, it was full when we got there so we need to park in the gated and covered parking 3 blocks away. We got an available slot on the next day though. The pool is small, too. Overall, the hotel is clean even the hallways, and well-maintained. I will stay again.
