Nice little bed and breakfast. I was a solo traveler on the top floor. Bathroom was a shared bathroom that was located out in the hallway. It was doable but just felt a little weird going in and out of it. Other than that, the staff were very accommodating and friendly. It’s a nice and historic bed and breakfast that’s pretty close to downtown (30 min walk) and it’s easily accessible by bus (the main medical center stop is across the street from the bed and breakfast. It only took about 6-8 mins to get to Monument Square)

Beautiful old fashioned hotel. Loved the vibe. But the area was very sketchy. Lots if zombie druggies around. I was with my husband so no biggie. But families with children should not stay here! Also the bathroom is teeny tiny. I am very thin as is my husband and my booty would rub the wall getting to the sink (I didn’t even attempt a shower. Again no big deal for us… but normal size people might have issues and definately overweight would have problems.
In Portland for a concert at Thompson Point, pleasantly surprised that the Inn at St John’s was in walking distance! Comfortable room, nice variety in the continental breakfast.
Great for a one or two night stay - parking options are available but you have to park a few blocks away if there is none close by. Not the most walkable area, but there are restaurants and grocery stores if needed. The staff and service were very accommodating! Easy check-in, free and well-supplied breakfast, coffee and water available 24/7. No elevator so if you have a room upstairs it can be a little annoying but worth it as the rooms were kept very clean and were spacious. Would stay again.
the inn at St John's was very comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. the only complaint was the parking lot was too small, I didn't like parking at overflow lot. Also being across the street from hospital was a little noisy one night
Lovely hotel. Staff very friendly and kind. Amazing breakfast. Didn’t realise no lift and on top floor of 4. When I pointed this out though, staff said I should have asked and they would have moved me if they could.
Spotless, quiet, and a comfy bed and pillows. A little musty in the room but not terrible. I had a sink in my room. Shared bathroom which was not a problem.
I was on the top floor! Luckily I travel light.
Breakfast offerings were varied for a budget hotel so great value there.
Lovely old building with character! It was a treat to stay some where a little different on my business trip.
I opted for the economy of the shared bath. It saved me a lot of money. I can't offer an opinion about the rooms with private baths. My room was very good. I will stay here again.

Liked: Amenities
Hotel is fabulous. Attached restaurant is amazing. Nothing else of interest in the neighborhood but downtown is a doable walk.
The staff were friendly and the airport close by. Other than that, it wasn’t a great stay for us. The mattress was incredibly uncomfortable & moved and squeaked on the bed frame with any movement. The furnishings were not retro chic but just dated & dingy. The bathroom had no window nor fan and did not smell good and had padded faux brick wall covering (think tacky padded cell). I’ve stayed in many cool old hotels and this one has potential to be that but is in need of some serious upgrades.
The property is not modern It is like a step back in time. Reminds me of my grandmother‘s house. However, the staff are brilliant, and the place is very clean and has all the amenities that you need.
No elevator. We had to climb 2 flights of stairs and had our bathroom, but not in our room.
It was charming and across the street from Maine Medica.
Staff were great.
