A short but wonderful stay!

The hotel was very comfortable and we were lucky to have a large airy room with large bathroom. The air-conditioning was wonderful, especially as the temperature outside was blisteringly hot! The room was, in the main, very clean, but the floor could have done with a better sweep and there was a small overflow from the shower to the bathroom floor - small things which did not detract from our stay. I have to mention the buffet breakfast - it was absolutely delicious and the view of Copacabana Beach from the breakfast room was amazing too.

Excellent from the moment we checked in. The hotel is directly across from Copacabana beach. The beach amenities are compliments of the hotel, they offer at no extra charge, umbrellas, chairs and towels. The beach staff are very attentive and our belongings while enjoying the beach were kept safe. The rooftop pool and outdoor restaurant area provided delicious dining and drink options, as well as stunning views of Copacabana. The hotel staff made us feel at home and our room was very clean and accommodating, view a great view of Christ the redeemer. The breakfast every morning offered a wonderful selection and healthy juices, along with a spectacular view to get you ready for the day ahead. If you enjoy a good workout the gym at the hotel will not disappoint, you can get in a nice workout and again the views will make going to the gym worthwhile. We truly enjoyed our stay at Porto Bay Rio de Janeiro, Copacabana beach.

PortoBay Rio is in an excellent location in Copacabana. I spent New Years celebration at the hotel with an awesome rooftop party. The staff is amazing. We had a nice room with view of the ocean. I would stay again at PortoBay.

I really like the staff. They were beyond incredible. Truly would have been a 5 star stay but the check-in was delayed by over an hour which was frustrating. However, staff was accomodating, friendly, and truly great people. Would recommend

I find housekeeping was very bare minimum, they only changed the shower towels didn’t bother changing the face towels and it took me forever to get an iron to steam my clothes. When I did receive the iron it was hot as if they were waiting on someone else to finish using it.

Great hotel and resort. If staying for a long period, as we did, choose a Superior Level room, 18-19th floor, rooms 04, 05 preferably for best views of Copacabana Beach. Take the breakfast option, it is worth it and no hassles, the roof top pool (small) and bar is wonderful, note limited long chairs and shade (24). Staff are very accommodating, helpful and kind. Many restaurants with minutes, ask the front desk for recommendations!!! As, you have access to a reserved area on the beach, with complementary chairs, towels and sumbrellas… you can also order drinks and lunch… the beach staff are amazing!!! Prices are fair, we would highly recommend this hotel for midrange guests…

A lovely hotel, just across the street from the BEACH! And the rooftop Pool and patio with Bar and Restaurant was Super Convenient! Also there were plenty of Delicious restaurants all within easy walking distance! We had a Terrific 10 Days!

No VIP access benefits. Hotel was not clean there were cockroaches in the room. Purchased a breakfast credit on Expedia which they did not honor. Mold and mildew all through the hallways. Rooftop and pool was small and probably could fit about 10 people comfortably (looks bigger online). Customer service 2/10 - asked to speak with manager multiple times but he would not speak with us or any other guest that had an issue.
