Known throughout the world as the city built on water, given its construction on 100 islands in the lagoon, Venice is one of Italy's most popular locations worldwide.
It is a real open-air museum, thanks to its historical and artistic heritage made of churches, palaces, and museums.
Strolling through Venice is like diving in the past: the so-called calli (streets) are dotted and framed by aristocratic buildings such as the Doge's Palace, the historic home of the Doges, spectacular bridges including the famous Rio Alto Bridge, and canals navigable by gondolas, waterbuses, and boats of all kinds.
The heart of the city is the enchanting St. Mark's Square, which houses the Basilica of the same name and welcomes thousands of tourists from all over the world every day.
The most famous local event is definitely the Carnival, thanks to its centuries-old tradition of masks and costumes that enliven the streets every year.
Last but not least, the famous "BĂ caro Tour" is a must: a tour among taverns where to taste local wine along with cicheti, typical Venetian tasty bites.
The accommodation is approximately 2 km from the Venice Santa Lucia train station.
The appartement was very nice and comfortable. We really appreciated the AC in both bedrooms. The place needs a little fixing up. Some windows are broken and the bigger bedroom had a damp moldy smell. Overall very nice apartment.
I would not choose any Wonderful Italy property in the future. This unit was poorly maintained and lacking amenities. High touch surfaces were clean, but other areas had very visible dirt and debris. This unit lacked basic kitchen equipment such as a cutting board, as well as common supplies in Italian short stay rentals like olive oil. Air conditioning was available in bedrooms, but not common area as stated. The unit is the one pictured, although maintenance looks haphazard. Plumbing equipment was roughly installed and exposed. Shower door in main bath is now missing and currently has a loose plastic curtain hanging. Lamps had broken plugs. Linens were clean; some towels had torn edges. Communication for service using the directed method in house manual was ineffective: I was directed to call or text a different number that did not use Whatâs App, and had to wait for an alternative method. This is important if you are using an eSIM for travel, as you will not be able to call and your preferred text method may not work.
Terrible smell in Master Bedroom, No A/C in Living and Kitchen/ Horrible Management Company!! Not worth it! Key to door always difficult to deal with, trash behind door, Management Company really pathetic!
