All beds have comfortable mattresses (by most people's standards).



Kitchen has Pots, Pans, Sinks, 2 INDUCTION COOK TOPS, Microwave Oven, Toaster, Coffee Maker, Grinder and ORGANIC Coffee, Full Size Refrigerator, Plates, Glasses, Bowls and more; it is setup with all that you will need for cooking good quality meals. NO OVEN however.



Laundry room is part of the kitchen with a Clothes Washer and Dryer.



Living Room and Kitchen are small. There is only 1 bathroom & 1 shower. If you plan to fill this unit to the maximum of 7 people be aware that it will be tight, but workable if you all get along well and cooperate with each other. There is a spacious cliff side patio with ample furniture to enjoy a nice meal and views together. Hot water heater has been engineered to provide ample hot water for 7 guests, even if taken back to back.



NOTE: that the QUEEN BED IN THE LIVING ROOM takes up extra space when the bed is setup. While it is easy to setup, it does require time and effort to set it up and put it back and un-make the bed.

GUEST NOISES: You will hear foot steps, voices, and kitchen appliances from above, this is the downstairs unit of the main house, other guests or us your hosts will be staying above. It is a daylight basement converted into a beautiful living space.



From time to time we have guests upstairs who have a little to much of a good time, too much to drink and get a bit noisy. It does carry down through the floor when that happens. We ask them, and you, not to do that and it is a house rule to keep it quiet especially after 10pm.



ROAD NOISE: We do have some road noise. MOST guests barely notice it. SOME guests do have issues with it. If you are highly sensitive to noise or can't stop focusing on it, then this is not the place for you. We live here and rarely notice it. It is the worst when standing outside in the drive way and trying to have a conversation. It is also noticeable in the bunk bedroom of this unit. Other than that, inside the main living areas of the units, or out back enjoying the amazing views, most people don't even notice it. It is barely audible.



Interaction with Guests:

We enjoy spending time with our guests, but we are also very busy people, so it can be hit or miss. Rest assured we will leave you alone to enjoy your own private time if that is what you want, or we may sit out back and enjoy the sunshine and views and a nice chat with you if you are open to that and we have the time.

We took the larger family unit when the cabin was unavailable. It was well-equipped and clean, clean, clean. Access to backyard and view is awkward from this unit (punch a door from the kitchen?), but well worth the effort.

Great for local accomodation (but not vacation relaxation)

Host Wife was extremely kind and gracious. Property was very clean and setup for short stays. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who needs local accommodations (comfortable beds). I would suggest to invest in a new sofa for living room as it is not the most comfortable to sit and watch TV. If you are looking for rest and relaxation, this may not be the right property, unless you are only there to get to nearby beaches, parks, etc. Location is perfect for a short drive to local parks/beaches. However being that it is a basement unit, there was substantial noise which came from owners living in main home upstairs, which was included in detail. While we expected some noises, we didn't think it would be as late as 12am, and as early as 5-6am. Would suggest owners follow some kind of "quiet hours" so that guests can really rest, rejuvenate, and relax. Lastly it was a bit disheartening that owner wanted to charge for excessive use of laundry detergent. When checking in were told we were welcome to use washer/dryer and never mentioned that we would be charged for laundry detergent. We did 3 VERY small loads while there, using regular detergent amount. In the end we called it even as we overpaid for 1 additional person to stay in house, but again I would suggest to owners to either post signage about use of detergent, or not offer any at all.

We had a very pleasant stay here, and there were 5 of us. Very accessible to Deception Pass and the town of Anacortes. Cannot wait to come back to this area! Our host was very communicative, and helpful with local recommendations. Admittedly, we were usually out and about all day every day...only came back to the Vrbo to sleep; and, we made simple breakfasts there. It may be a bit too small of a place for 5 people to hang out all day inside. But, the listing was very accurate; so, there were no surprises in this regard. One thing worth noting is that one of the bedrooms can only be accessed by passing through the bathroom. We weren't prepared for that; but, then again, the listing may have mentioned it, and I overlooked it. Ultimately, we made do; the price of this unit is extremely reasonable; and, the hosts were top-notch.

It is a basement property that does not have views out of the windows, you will only see the bottom of the wrap around porch that is there upstairs that the landlord uses. Also there is not any opening to the waterfront side the opening is the other side. Plus the ceiling height is only 7 feet max and definitely not open and airy if that is your consideration. Location is good. You get good views from the sitting area outside.

Beautiful water view

We were warmly welcomed and shown the property including our downstairs accommodation, the outside area with a beautiful water view and the organic farm across the road. While there was no stove or oven, a very small living room area and a small shower, the owners had a completely stocked kitchen and bathroom. Because it was a downstairs unit and close to the road there was some noise but that was understandable and caused us little problems. Aside from that and that the single bed in the smaller bed was uncomfortable, the stay was a pleasant one.

Sweet getaway

Meeting the owners is different but we liked them, easy to get along with. My kids were given an extensive tour of their working farm, they liked that. As the photos show, it is one hell of a view off the patio. well maintained and cared for property. The easy trails at Deception Pass State Park were great, go early or later in the day to get the most solitude. We liked this area of Washington, would visit again.

The house is rated for 6 people, which it can sleep, but the layout is cramped and awkward, especially since you get to the kids rooms through the bathroom. It advertises laundry facilities, but the washer was not working. Also, the heating is simply space heaters in each room.

Very nice rental

We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment. It’s on the lower level of a house that is on a bluff overlooking Puget Sound. The apartment was clean and in good shape. There is a washer and dryer, but no dishwasher, and the cooking surface is two very good hot plates rather than a full stove. The only thing we didn’t like was the layout because you have to go through the bathroom to get to the second bedroom, but that wasn’t a big problem for us. I would definitely recommend this apartment, especially if you’re on a budget.

Read the listing from the friendly owners very carefully. It's a 2-bedroom basement. It's well appointed & cozy with 3-4 people, would be crowded with more. Listed at a reasonable rate, but fees (including pet fee) & tax took the total cost up nearly 40%. View from backyard is indescribably amazing; barely visible from inside. 10 minutes from downtown Anacortes, 10 from Bowman Bay State Park, 20 to Deception Pass. No stove/oven in the kitchen, but dual hot plates were easy to cook on. Spice cupboard stocked with basics, tea & coffee.

What was really nice is how clean and nice comfy things in the house. What was disappointing was the beautiful sea view was visible only while standing in the kitchen. No privacy while outside. I read the reviews and thought I would be okay with the noise upstairs. But could not sleep until they went to bed and was wakened when they got up. The owner are busy people. Up late and up early. I hate having to watch every footstep while walking outside. This is needed as owners have a dog. We stayed under the house and there is another rental space in the garage. I felt it was overpriced for what you get.
