I checked in to my room expecting a pleasant stay but automatically noticed the ceiling tile in the bathroom was not right. It was not in place right and looked very suspect. I notified the front desk and requested another room but she said she was booked for the night. She then called maintenance and a man named Johnny came and explained to us that the room we were in was still being worked on and that they ran out of ceiling tile when they got to our room. He then said the best way we can avoid seeing that shabby looking tile is to close the door. He then said to tell the front desk to see what they can do. When I asked him to come to the front desk with me he instantly zoomed off and said he had something else to do. Nothing else was done. The ceiling tile in that bathroom was half done, yet I paid full price for the room. Real bad maintenance service and I got a room that was not 100% complete. Very disappointed stay. The shower gel in the bathroom was supposed to be free to use but the bottle was empty. Real bad service.

We enjoyed our stay here twice while visiting Wheaton College. The public areas are very nice, except the hot tub which desperately needs resurfacing. The gym is well appointed with both weights and cardio equipment, and the pool is better than usual. Lobby is clean and nice, although we did experience a strange man, not a guest, wandering through the pool area. Breakfast is quite good with both hot and cold items. The bedrooms could use updating. Ceiling tiles are dirty and sliding door was difficult to open. Shower contains all you need. Bed was comfortable. Staff is very responsive and brought us extra bedding and a fan upon request. Would stay here again.

Great if the elevator worked

Our stay was good. Very nice room, clean. The hotel smelled really nice. Only complaint was that one of the 3 elevators was broken.... which i underatand you cant do much about... but there were no stairs connecting to the lobby floor so we were just stuck. At one point we waited for 15 minutes for an elevator that we were able to fit in.... making me late. When we asked if there were stairs the woman at the desk was very rude.

We really enjoyed our stay. Check-in was quick and easy, staff were always friendly, and the breakfast was full of delicious options. We appreciated the complimentary coffee in the lobby, as well! Drawbacks included a non-functioning elevator, which made getting to and from the room take longer than desired. The one stairwell they had was through the pool area and not very convenient, otherwise we would have used it to get to our room more often. Also, temp in our room was very hot and could only be in heat mode. Despite turning the temp down to 68 and leaving the fan continuously on, it stayed at least 73 all night, which was uncomfortable. Lastly, the floors are pretty disgusting. Pool area had debris and dirt that made walking around gross. No attention was paid to the floors there, or in the lobby or common areas, so we saw bits of food, spilled beverages, etc. All in all, it seemed we got a good price compared to other hotels in the area, and we were happy with the experience.

I would avoid this hotel. One working elevator. Stairwell was extremely nasty and has to walk through pool area. No AC during our stay. So the hallways were about 80 degrees and the room at 75. When we asked the front desk how to turn the AC on in our 6th floor hotel room, they said they had no AC. They then told us to just open a window and they could bring us a box fan. I'm sorry, but we weren't staying at the econo lodge. It was the Hampton. Not 5 stars but certainly not "open a window and use a box fan" type of hotel. The whole vibe of the hotel was just off. Will never return.

Overall the check-in, was great , the room was nice and clean, the only cons was the pool/ jacuzzi area , the pool room smelled of dogs (and they shouldn’t be allowed near or in the area), the jacuzzi was filthy and I spoke with hotel employee and he explained that it would be cleaned by the next morning, returned the next morning the water looked a bit more clearer but the walls of the jacuzzi was still filthy and had not been cleaned at all!! Overall the stay was fine .

This hotel seem to be struggling. There were never enough pool towels, the hot tub seemed dirty. Guests were leaving garbage everywhere. I think the staff kind of gave up, honestly.
