We arrived at the hotel early and we needed to drop off our luggage. Ronnie helped check in our bags. He was so friendly and helpful! He has a wonderful personality! The building is very beautiful. We stayed on the 10th floor. Our room was quite small but it was clean and comfortable. I was a bit disappointed to see that the window that is in the room was covered with privacy film. It was disappointing not to be able to see outside, regardless of the view, especially since the room was so small. It felt a little claustrophobic. I didn't see the lack of view anywhere when booking or I may have booked elsewhere. But overall, our stay was friendly, quiet, and comfortable. The area around the hotel is beautiful and it is right on the river.

I had a great stay at The River Hotel in Chicago! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The location is perfect, close to everything you need, from restaurants and shopping to attractions and public transportation. The convenience and hospitality really stood out. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Chicago!

NASCAR Weekend

Staff was super friendly! Location was perfect and accessible to many stores and restaurants. First room the air was not working. Moved to another room and had air conditioning issues too. Took a while to fix. Hotel did not offer a discount or anything for inconvenience. However, would stay there again!

River Hotel

My overall rating is a 4 out out of 5 because the room was not totally ready when I checked in. I do believe it was an honest mistake and the staff had it cleaned before I returned. The rooms on the river side are small and I would say the furnishings are basic. Not minimalist, the room lacks an upscale feel that I was expecting. The room where I stayed was big enough if all you need is a place to sleep and get cleaned up. But it isn’t a place I would want to hang out. The view is good. That all said the staff is Great, they have solid recommendations on food and fun places to go. If I was going to stay downtown again. I would stay at the River Hotel again.

Small but decent hotel

Great location and service. Got an upgrade for a room with a partial river view. when checking in. Each floor has a water station, which is a big plus. The sound of staff knocking doors of other rooms for room service in the morning is kinda disturbing.

Great location, clean rooms, and excellent service! River Hotel is right by the river and close to everything downtown. The room was comfy and had everything I needed, including filtered water stations. Perfect for a quick and easy stay in Chicago. Would definitely come back!
