I recommend it! The host was super! Great location! Tram is up front and you can gome and go in the city and to the airport vith the tram. Breakfast included. Towels were changed during our stay.
Lovely stay at the Pillars. Very friendly and informative. Use of the kitchen was very convenient, thanks. Comfy beds, slept like a log. Two minute walk from the tram stop.
Perfect location for the event we travelled for, tram stop into city is just outside. Room was clean and comfortable for our one night stay. Check in was easy, host was friendly and helpful. Provided us with water, croissant and the famous Irn Bru in the room. Would definitely stay again if have any other events in Edinburgh.
The property is located in a nice area, easily accessible. It does not offer a proper breakfast, but a dining space, coffee, tea, snacks, milk, bread and fruit. The hosts are really helpful. However, the price is quite high, although could not find better in Edinburgh.
Iâve never stayed in a hostel but I think this was a previous hostel room and it was clean and large, giving my family of 4 enough space to spread out. Also it having a full-size kitchen was very convenient again giving me some extra spaces since Iâve been with my family of 4 all week in London. And the manager was very helpful and friendly. Only complaint we had was the room was on the top of 3 floors and no elevator. So yeah there were a lot of hugging and puffing mostly by me. Overall it was a great place considering I planned this last minute and didnât even know the fringe was going on in Edinburgh.
It was easy to get to this property via the tram after getting off our train from the train station. If you are arriving by plane, you can also easily access the tram to this property too. The proximity to a tram stop makes this property a standout.
When we arrived, we were greeted by Edna and her son Craig. They were both really friendly and gave us a lot advice of where to eat and what to do. We managed to go to one of Craigâs many recommendations - Fishwater for fish and chips, which was located a couple of tram stops away. The price was so reasonable and the large fish and chips order was so huge that my daughter and I ended up sharing it. It was really fantastic!
Pillars House offers a continental breakfast of wrapped granola bars and wrapped jam filled croissants to enjoy in the room. They also supply you with tasty cookies to enjoy with the generous tea/coffee/hot chocolate supplies in the room. In addition, guests have access to the kitchen at all times, where there are generous supplies of assorted fruit ie apples, oranges, grapes, plums and bananas and generous supply of wrapped large muffins to supplement your breakfast or to grab as snacks throughout the day. We were impressed with the daily cleaning and refreshing of our rooms. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the room was really quiet. We never heard our neighbours in the rooms on either side of our room for our entire 3 night stay. We highly recommend Pillars!
