A very nice stay in a welcoming hotel

Trendy hotel with a good choice of fun activities in the lobby. Very friendly staff. No room service but we could order and take the food in our room so it was fine. The only thing is that we lacked information about breakfast price and gym opening hours that we couldn't even find on the hotel channel on the TV. Apart from that (minor thing) we had a lovely stay. The location is 12mns walk from Queen st train station, it's the East side of Glasgow which doesn't look great but there's is a nice selection of restaurants nearby (try Santa Lucia and Sapporo!) and an Aldi and a Tesco Express open until very late.

Central city location and friendly staff

We arrived really early and staff were friendly and helpful. Showing us where we could leave luggage securely until we could check in and giving information about checking in later (late evening after an event). Great modern twin room and comfy beds. We are looking forward to coming back again.

Lovely, but room for improvement.

Stay was great, found the room too hot, and could not get the air con to turn down. The plasticky sheet on the bed made it very sweaty and uncomfortable for me. The extractir fan in the bathroom seemed not to be working, so it was unbearable warm in there.

Moxy is my new go-to hotel in Glasgow

Staff were super friendly and helpful. I had an appetizer before going out for the evening and it was delicious. Breakfast was great… fantastic selection and plenty of it.

June 2025 Stay: Moxy Merchant City Glasgow

I have previous stayed in the Moxy Merchant City several times, mainly because it is located close to the Cathedral area, for attending nearby business meetings. It is only a 2-3 minute short walk to the Cathedral area from here. Disappointingly, despite requesting a room close to the elevator for mobility reasons, on this occasion I was given a room on the 1st floor at the far end of the floor. Just as far away from the elevator as possible (a considerable walk ref mobility issues). I then had to go down & explain the issue contrary to the booking request. Had to then query if there were any rooms beside an elevator ref disability issues. Consequently, a room right at the elevator was then assigned on the 3rd floor, which was perfect. However, this could have been part of the initial reception procedure had the booking notes been taken into account, to simply avoid this hassle to myself and staff alike. The only other issue I noticed was that the USB power charging sockets beside the bed weren't working, it seems from overuse & damage ref people charging their devices. These would need replaced & as insertable socket components would be easy to do. I had to use the plug in charger I brought with me & this tied me to charging one device at a time. I also noted this same problem ref over used & worn out USB charging ports in other previous stays at the Moxy Merchant City & this needs attention. Other than these two issues, everything else was generally fine.
