We have stayed at the Avon bridge several times now and have always had a positive experience.
This time we stayed in the Priory, a separate building on the same site. Upon our arrival we were greeted courteously by reception staff.
I have to say the large red bins that were next to the priory stank, but were moved later. The front door was difficult to open and staff were clearly aware this was an issue.
The room was clean and quiet, which was good.
However, the service in the restaurant was, frankly, some of the worst I have encountered in many years. On the two nights we stayed, it took us 3 hours to have a 2 course meal due, entirely, to pooor orgnisation. The restaurant was not very busy but we were left unattended for long periods by staff who appeared to be harrassed and 'having words' with each other several times.
It spoiled an otherwise pleasant stay.
