I’ve stayed at other Moxy hotels and this one is similar. Very small rooms but you’re paying for the location. It’s clean and I don’t really mind the small room. It was ideal for my stay as I had to be downtown. I’m taking one star off because of the noise. I stayed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night. Every night there was an open air dance party next door that ended at 2am. I’m used to sleeping with noise canceling headphones so it actually didn’t bother me that much. But just be aware if you’re bothered by noise you will get zero sleep over the weekend. The walls are really thin too and you can hear every conversation unless you have headphones. Other than that this place is a reasonable option if you have to stay downtown

Extremely poor experience at this establishment. My husband and I stayed there 4 nights, our purpose of travel being that I was running the Chevron Houston Marathon. The hotel is adjacent to an outdoor nightclub that was blasting loud music until 2 AM every night. Despite using ear plugs, combined with sound-blocking earphones, the bed was literally thrumming with the deafening music. Sleep was impossible. When we called the reception desk at midnight, the night before the marathon (I was getting up at 4AM, and hadn’t had any sleep) the clerk said he couldn’t change our room and that there was nothing he could do. When I said that the situation was unacceptable, he simply hung up. I did not sleep at all the night before the marathon, which ended up ruining my race. Also, during our 4-night stay, our room was cleaned only once, on the 3rd day. When we came back from lunch at 1:30PM, and noticed that our room still hadn’t been cleaned despite having asked the ladies at the front desk to make sure they didn’t miss it today, I had to call the reception desk again and leave the room for another hour. We’d run out of TP, clean towels, and our garbage was overflowing. I then heard the clerk at the reception desk complaining to his coworkers about “the lady in 710” who “yelled at him” (I never yelled, only said that I’d asked twice for room service since the previous day and that it was unacceptable that it had yet to be done when we’d been out of the room from 6AM until 1:30Pm).

The hotel was gorgeous and the customer service was great! The only thing is they gave us a room facing the club beside the hotel. The music kept us up till 2am. This made the early wake up call for the Houston marathon a challenge. It was super close to the marathon start line and finish.
