Horrible hotel
The room we had (302) was horrible.The floor was so slanted I would consider it a safety issue. I got out of bed and lost my balance due to the floor being so uneven. The temperature was hard to control, possibly because the knob was broken on one of the controls. The noise from the restaurant was too much for me. It went on until after midnight and you could heat every clink of the dishes being cleared. No sleep at all. I couldn’t wait to get out of this place.

Nice old hotel,well kept but without guest service
Lovely old hotel with plenty of character. Not a very high quality mattress. No actual front desk or designated hotel entrance, we had to use the restaurant entrance and found an envelope with our keys and a note to sign in.

Newtown is a really nice walkable town. The inn is convenient because it’s right in town and near everything. The inn overall is historic and charming and the restaurant in it is great. The problem is the rooms. They have paper thin walls so you can hear everything. We listened to our neighbors conversation as if they were in our room! Also the heating system is old and not efficient. Because of this, each room has a space heater to use. Some other little oddities because of the age of the inn. Overall good for one night but I wouldn’t stay any longer.
