The beds and comfy pillows were lovely. Room had a small fridge - and we had a balcony from 3rd floor which was nice. I also loved how easy it was to control our temperature (we went in January so sometimes cooler and sometimes warmer). Newer heating system and ceiling fan was great. Dresser oddly didn't work so 'unpacking' was different. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It is one block from a fabulous coffee/brunch/beverage spot (en vie) which was great too. Location was nice - at end of French Market and close to Frenchman neighborhood for a cool music vibe that felt so authentic!

We’ve stayed at Richelieu Hotel 4 times and this time was just ok. Housekeeping didn’t provide soap for two days (took the perfectly fine soap we were using and didn’t replace it) , didn’t replace the coffee or provide new coffee cups one of the days, and forgot the bath floor towel another day. It’s fine for what it is especially if you’re staying a few days and need a place that won’t break the bank. Don’t expect any frills - no bathrobes or slippers and a very basic coffee machine. It could be a little cleaner/dusted more and more upkeep but the bed is comfortable and the balcony is a nice touch where you can enjoy your morning coffee or evening drink. The location is great - on the quieter end of the French Quarter, closer to Frenchmen street so that’s very convenient. So all in all it’s great for the location and price compared to other hotels in the FQ.

Our stay at Hotel Richelieu was absolutely wonderful. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the French Quarter, yet still calm and charming. We were able to walk everywhere while enjoying a peaceful retreat at the end of the day. The hotel itself is full of character and history, exactly what you hope for in New Orleans. Our room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained. The courtyard and pool were a true highlight—such a relaxing oasis after a day of exploring. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. This hotel captures the soul of New Orleans: elegant, laid-back, and full of charm. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic French Quarter experience.

The room was clean. My room didn’t have much of a view they did offer me a room with view but I was ok with what we had. Staff was friendly… walls are a bit hollow so You can hear every footstep and loud guest but overall good experience.

Very Courteous front desk staff. I checked in and wasn’t feeling well, also I had lost my voice and my throat was extremely soar, I couldn’t barely speak. I had a plumbing issue with my room and he had the issue IMMEDIATELY RESOLVED. Brian Thornton was quite exceptional.
