Beautiful vintage hotel directly on the trolley route. They only give you one room key though. It is an actual key and not a key card. The rooms are smaller than one might like for the cost of the stay. We had a two room Thalia suite.

Clearly Expedia customers are treated differently. A room was booked through Expedia, front desk says no rooms available - we are at negative one... Called back via cellphone 10 mts later, yes we rooms available. Couldn’t you have said that at the front desk?? We would have booked while standing there. Overpriced, prefer nicer cleaner hotels.

What we loved about staying here - the location (right by the Trolley on St. Charles), walkable to many restaurants, great Jazz bar and restaurant, great rooftop patio and old world charm with a twist of hipster. The shower pressure was amazing! Staff were really helpful and nice. What we did not love - the rooftop bar turns into a college hangout after 8pm, the rooms are a bit dim and outdated because it's an old building. I requested a city view but on the third floor our windows were treated so we could not see out. They offered to move us but I was too tired to switch. All in all I enjoyed our stay and would consider staying again because of the location and restaurant/bars.

Such a charming hotel! Old world style and elegance abounds! Silverwhistle Cafe was great for breakfast, and Jack Rose was exceptional - my server, Drea was attentive and offered amazing recommendations. I really can’t wait for my next trip. Thanks to all the staff for being so outgoing & friendly!

Great location. Hotel has not been kept up. Could use some updates to rooms. Enjoyed both the jazz bar and the rooftop bar, although on the weekends, the rooftop bar is open to the public so there was a very long line waiting to go up and using up one of the two elevators. Rooftop bar was too crowded to enjoy on the weekend.

Our spot

Love staying at the Pontchartrain Hotel. We have made this our regular spot when we visit NOLA. The area is beautiful with so many places to see and to eat. The Tin Roof bar on the roof is fantastic with a spectacular view, and cafe and restaurant in the hotel are very good. We walk through the garden district every morning and evening and love that the streetcar stops right in front of the hotel. It’s just a short ride (or $10 Lyft/uber) to the French quarter. The staff is super friendly and very accommodating. Great place!
