I normally know better than to stay anywhere near Times Square if I have a choice. My main purpose in staying at Row NYC was to have a room within walking distance of an event I was attending, and wasn't unreasonably expensive for the location. That's what I got, with very little else. The room was technically clean, as was the hallway, but it didn't feel clean. Poor lighting, old blotchy paint, dingy colors, all contributed to a sense of grime. The contrast from the shiny (though still dimly lit) lobby was jarring. It was a very small room (though to be fair I didn't need anything bigger), with an awkward layout, one folding chair, and a futon for a mattress. There was a window, if you wanted to climb over the bed to reach it and pull up two separate blackout shades to see what was basically a back alley. No refrigerator. The toilet was wedged uncomfortably up against the tub, and its base leaked. WiFi was the worst I've ever had and still been able to connect -- good enough for checking your email if you're not in a rush, but even YouTube video at 144P is too much for it to handle. I'm so glad this wasn't a business trip -- but a business trip would have been paid for by somebody else, and I'd have stayed in better accommodations. The hotel bar charged ridiculous prices for drinks and bites, even by midtown Manhattan standards. I didn't bother. There was a snacks and sundries shop that was supposed to be open 24/7, but was not, so I can't comment on its prices.

the property was dirty and old. my room was full of dust. the door frames were falling apart, there was a small hole on the wall behind the entry door I waited over 40 minutes in line to check in as they only had 2 employees on duty at 4pm when checking is open. I notice that a lot of people were complaining about their key cards not working. It was a mess. will never use this property again

The staff was terrific. We had an easy check in but I noticed the next day, check in line was down the hall and out the door :-( The biggest problem was that the two assigned elevators for our floor both malfunctioned leaving guests waiting for hours (literally more than 2 hours) to get to their floor. A kind staff person showed us the staff elevator so we were ok but it still took 15 minutes to arrive. It is not possible to use the stairs because they lock entrance to each floor for security. My fear is what do we do in case of a fire? We did have a fire alarm on the morning we left...luckily we were already on the way to check out. So in summary: great staff, nice room, very unsafe elevator situation.

The hotel was nice. We loved our cleaning lady, she absolutely very helpful. What we didn’t like was that we had to go front for 4 nights in a row to get new key card and even those didn’t work. They had to get security to let us in our room. One I informed front desk person that I would be leaving again that same night and he replied “you’re leaving again”. It was such an inconvenience to keep going back to front desk after every outing.
