Room and hotel are clean; staff is pleasant. Great location and very reasonable price. I've been coming back to Monumental for the last 10 years. I just wish that they would put the refrigerators back in the rooms.

The room was clearly cleaned minutes before I arrived, it reeked of bleach, and had nothing appealing in the room. The pillow where left roughed up and there was old toilet paper left to my surprised on the side of the toilet. When I arrived the clerk wasn’t even in the front, had to use a doorbell to alert the clerk that someone was upfront. When I left there was an homeless begging for money for they could get a room. Just down right the worst experience you could have overall with a hotel. And definitely should be cheaper considering there isn’t anything to offer but a nasty old room for however many night you overpay for.

When you get to the lobby you can feel the humidity smell. Awful, the lady at the front desk was a little rude. The room was dirty, hallways dirty smelling like marihuana and the room was super dirty, you could see bedbugs on the beds. Filthy, when I request to be changed to a clean room. The lady said no. Unbelievable

Firstly I would like to say all the staff I spoke with were very friendly and helpful and did what they could to help. The problem I found was the room I was in 416 was very jaded I have bits of plaster hanging from the ceiling, the bathroom door wouldn't even close fully due to the bottom being blown out (A MDF door for a bathroom not ideal) The door into my room was missing one half of the door restraint. The coffee maker was filthy and had to be replaced by a new one. On the website it states daily maid service. That didn't happen each day ( twice in a 9 night stay) if you needed fresh towels you had to ask for them in reception.My room had a few ants on my first day but on the second day you could see them all over the floor the bed. I took a video and the lady at reception who gave me 3 new rooms to look at only one was up to a decent standard. One had no smoke detector the other had a broken AC and the third room still had a couple of ants. The general look of the building was rundown and in need of some serious updating, as you walk to your room you could see dust on the rail that ran along the wall. It states a games room, a fitness suite but both of these don't exist. The pool area didn't look very inviting. The owners need to revamp this building if they wish to keep getting visitors to return. As I said at the start the staff were great.

People working there were super nice, but the first room they put us in was disgusting. They had mold all over the place, the AC was hot, and there was blood stains on the floor. And there were dirty linens all lining the hallway. That was on the second floor. The fourth floor was a lot better after we were moved to another room, but definitely “you get what you pay for”

During my stay, I discovered bed bugs in the room. After returning home, I have developed itchy bites on my hands and legs, which is consistent with bed bug exposure. This situation has caused significant discomfort, stress, and potential risk of bringing bed bugs into my home. I am now having to treat my belongings, wash all clothing, and monitor my residence for any signs of infestation.

I started to get sick and thought maybe just allergies, was a few cold nights and we used the heater and ac unit. Last night there we happened to notice tons of mold or (moldy mice poop) inside the ac units. Location is great and so is price but after being so sick never again.

It was OK. The room smell very fresh but the water from toilet poured out when flushed, we were placed in a room right next to elevator and the elevator noise roared all night making it hard to sleep. TV didn’t work and had to be swapped out. There was no bath towels in bathroom, a piece of iron stuck out from underneath bed which is dangerous because you can’t see it until you hit it with your foot that caused me a lot of pain. Walls were cracking and paint peeling , holes in wall near unit to the point you can see outside. Price should match how rooms look. These rooms are priced to high to be in condition they are in.
