Welcome to the Flat on Alexander, a meticulously restored post-and-beam Mid-Century Modern Palm Springs home, gorgeous inside and out with numerous aesthetic flourishes and a rebuilt pool set amid a spacious backyard. Start your day with coffee from a Jura machine and a yoga session on our wood deck and end it enjoying a drink and watching the sun descend down the San Jacinto Mountains. A classic desert experience awaits you.

Designed by architects William Krisel and Dan Palmer and built by the Alexander Company in 1959, the home is set in the historic Racquet Club Estates neighborhood, surrounded by other vintage Alexander homes, in a quiet and clean residential area. Victoria Park, perfect for children , is two blocks away. Downtown Palm Springs and the Agua Caliente Casino are less than a five-minute drive away.

Highlights include vintage/designer furniture throughout the interior and exterior, new A/C unit, terrific views of the mountains from the house, courtyards and backyard, resort-style yard, washer/dryer and a garage.

There are Smart TVs in every room so you can access your own streaming services in a flash. We have Disney Plus for you!

Gourmet retro kitchen with everything you need to enjoy dining in or dining al fresco. There are 5 dining options around the house. Inside, enjoy a lovely meal around a round marble top table with authentic Charles and Ray Eames dining chairs by Henry Miller, or opt out for casual dining around the original kitchen island that was built in 1959. In the yard, enjoy a bistro style meal under the covered awning or go all out for a big meal on our spacious concrete dining table that can seat 10 -12 guests. There is another bistro style table in the front courtyard.

A Roy Lichtenstein inspired wet bar with high capacity ice maker, beverage/wine cooler and vintage 1960’s smoke grey glasses.

We love good coffee and hope you do too. We are proud owners of a Jura automatic espresso/coffee maker that freshly grinds beans for every delicious cup. We also have various tea options. We also have an electric kettle and French press.

There is a high end turntable with external speakers to listen to a collection of our vinyls. Speakers are Bluetooth ready, so you can easily connect your own device. Because of the city’s strict rules on loud music played in vacation homes, we do not have built in speakers outside in the yard.

We have a credenza filled with games, activities, puzzles for all ages, including a poker set and backgammon.

There is an ultra modern concrete Ping Pong table/outdoor dining table combo for those bbq dinners or Ping Pong challenges. We also have a newly built Bocce Ball Court with scorekeeper. You can also play other lawn games such as Bottle Bash and Cornhole on the court as well.

For BBQing, we offer WEBER natural gas grill as well as a small charcoal grill that is primarily used for kebabs and other skewered bbq.

Enjoy our fully renovated deep saltwater swimming pool complete with built in jacuzzi spa, tanning ledge, and bubblers with LED light show. We have pool floats, noodles and other fun floaties (including an electric air pump).
There is an optional in-pool ice chest/cocktail table for the tanning ledge. An umbrella hole in the pool is also available for added shade if desired.
Pool heating is $75 a day (must heat everyday of your stay and we need at least one days notice).
We do not heat pool May-September.
Spa heating and firepit usage is included in the cost of the rental.

We have a built in, fully enclosed patio awning (with lounge seating and a bistro table) spanning the length of the house to provide shade and protection from the elements.

We also have sun loungers and a daybed for soaking up the desert sun.

We have an outdoor shower to rinse off before and after pool time.

We have a yoga/meditation exercise deck for those of you that need your sun salutations in the desert.

Enjoy walking through the front breezeway of the house where you can admire various cacti and desert plants in our cactus breezeway garden. Just don’t get too close
cacti have prickly personalities.

There’s no reason to leave once you arrive. However, we have lots of suggestions for you in our house manual for dining out, going shopping and enjoying excursions throughout the Coachella Valley.

This is our home away from home. We are very selective with who we think will be a good fit for renting our home. For starters, this home is surrounded by full-time neighbors who love and care for our neighborhood. So this is not a party house. Our neighborhood is quiet and serene. We love guests who will care for our home and belongings the same way you care for your home. We have painstakingly poured our hearts and resources into every square inch of this house. We want you to unwind, let go and fully enjoy your vacation here. We just expect our guests to be thoughtful and mindful about caring for the space, whether you’re staying for a couple of nights or for several weeks.

Please note that the City Of Palm Springs charges 12.5% occupancy tax on all stays less than 28 days. We will need to collect these taxes from you prior to your arrival.

The City of Palm Springs has very strict vacation rental guidelines.
These guidelines are set to help balance the needs of the local community, as well as the needs of the vibrant tourist culture that our city thrives on.

* Limited car parking on streets and cars limited to how many bedrooms a vacation home has.
* Neighborhood quiet hours start at 10pm
* Only 2 persons per bedroom can stay overnight, plus 2 minors

Nikki was fabulous from start to beyond check-out. Perhaps one of the kindest people ever, so accomodating & genuinely caring. Liana has an incredibly well-appointed, clean, comfortable house - that we settle into & did not want to leave. The pool was perfectly heated, I swam in the early mornings, my adult kids swam at night - the spa, amazing!! The enite yard was wonderful; perfectly landscaped, games all around - great firepit - the pictures are not in any way modified, the house & yard are as amazing as they look and we enjoyed it all. We brought blankets, because we had our service dogs, many rentals had strict rules. Liana left a welcome book, & immediately metions the house was inspired by their dog - love that, it really is a dog friendly home, huge bonus. My adult kids cooked some great meals in the kitchen, everything they needed was provided (minus food lol) - we put up a tree, it felt so cozy. we all slept well in our beds. So much natural light, what a wonderful thing!! We even enjoyed the storm! This was a more expensive home that we were looking for, but we could not stop coming back to it. After speaking to Nikki, I decided we were going to spend the extra money. It was worth every penny, we lacked for nothing. I would live there if I could, that is how much we felt "at home" there. Me, two grown children, & our service dogs could have stayed there forever. If you are considering it, boo stop, book it. You won't regret it!! Nikki will take good care of you!!

Fantastic

Our family of 2 adults and 3 kids had a fantastic stay. The house was very clean and meticulously adorned with modern amenities and fun/artistic decor that's typical of Palm Springs but usually not done as well as this house. The owners, who are very nice and easy to communicate with, clearly spared no detail - from the espresso machine to the wet bar and turntable. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the backyard space that has a sizable pool (and jacuzzi) along with a gas fire pit for roasting s'mores, corn hole, bocce ball, ping pong and a BBQ. The views are great from this quiet and safe neighborhood. Our kids could play in the street and walk to Victoria Park close by. The property management company was available throughout our stay to immediately answer any questions we had. Highly recommend. We'll be coming back.

Amazing house in the beautiful Racquet Club area

The house is amazing. Beautifully designed, comfy beds, plenty of space, and stunning outside space. A great pool (heating in cooler months is at an additional cost), with loads of extras (floats, noodles, etc) to keep the kids happy. And nice additional "toys" such as the Bocce court, table-tennis table, etc. Also the house comes with a super responsive travel agent so if there as any issues (EG, we had a power cut one morning which caused issues with the pool) they jump right on it, even on holidays! A great, super-comfy base to experience all that Palm Springs and the surround area (Joshua Tree, AirTram, etc) has to offer. We'll be back!

The best Palm Springs house

We were there for a wedding with another couple that we are friends with. The place was pristine and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The owners literally thought of everything and we had such a better experience than our friends who stayed at hotels downtown. Ubers were easy to get to go downtown but it was so nice to relax in this outdoor oasis!! Would definitely come back!
