The property was very nice. The swim out room was great for getting away from crowds and having our own private area, however it isn't accessible to the main resort area. You have to walk through your room and back through the lobby or around the buildings to go to the main areas. Not a true swim out room. Private room drink service was dependent on how busy the pool was. Overall still fantastic and would do it again. The à la carte restaurants were so good and I highly recommend Il Formaggio for the best steak. The buffet was very hit or miss however. Be sure to stop at El Rincon for some excellent coffee anytime!

This hotel has a beautiful property & a relaxing vibe but it’s clear that it isn’t being properly maintained. We experienced issues with our room almost every day of our stay. The AC didn’t work, there looked to be mold on the ceiling & on some of the pictures, switches were dirty & the mini fridge wasn’t working. Housekeeping failed to leave towels on one of the days. One day the key card reader to our room stopped working. We were locked out for most of the day, it felt like we were being given the runaround. When they finally came to fix the door, they drilled a hole near the handle to get it open—leaving a dime-sized opening that felt like a peep hole. That alone was unsettling. One day the property ran out of water & when it came back on, the toilet, sink, and shower were running brown water. We were told to let it run for 10 minutes, but even after 30 minutes it was still brown. While we were running the shower, worms appeared on the floor, which was unsettling. Our last day the key card failed again. After the first time, we were afraid to leave the room & risk being locked out right before our flight. We ended up sitting in the room instead of enjoying our last day. The food wasn’t great, so head next door instead. The staff were friendly & welcoming & the location made commuting easy (tell your driver “face potatoes”—they’ll know). Despite all the issues, no one attempted to make things right or apologize, which was disappointing. Beautiful place, rooms need TLC!

The room was nice. The pool staff, housekeepers and most building staff were great. We ran into problems when we tried tongetbthe swimout that we paid exta for fixed. The jets were not running and it was dirty nothing was moving or being filtered. They sent someone over and he skimmed the top and left. We went down multiple times to get it fixed and only once did someone come to look. We paid extra to have it and couldnt use it and we were not refunded any money. Anytime we would ask the front desk for assistance the were dismissive and at times rude.

The property is very clean, and the staff is incredibly nice and friendly. The food was delicious with a great variety to choose from. Overall, my stay was peaceful and truly enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back!

The Room was clean and well attended. The Staff throughout the Hacienda were excellent - most helpful and courteous. This was my second vacation at the hacienda. My only complaint this time was that I found all of the food in the buffets to be overly salty, which was a disappointment for me.That caused my lowering of my experience rating.

I’ve never written a hotel review, but my experience at The Hacienda at Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta was so awful I need to warn others. We were put in four different rooms over four nights and never unpacked once. We originally booked a Junior King Suite with the blue wall and decor, but what we got instead was chaos. Room 1: Couldn’t even get in because the key system was down. Room 2: An outdated, dirty room with two double beds, mold, stains, hair on the floor, a broken ironing board, no deadbolt, no phone, and a TV remote that didn’t work. When I brought this up, the front desk laughed and said the room type we booked “doesn’t exist,” even though you can see them from the hallway. We were told we’d have to wait until Monday (we checked in Saturday) to get the room we paid for. Room 3 finally matched our booking, but the door didn’t lock at all. The staff suggested we “lock our suitcases,” which was insulting. A supervisor confirmed the issue and moved us again. Room 4 was an “upgrade” with a swim-out pool, which we never used because raccoons were swimming in it. Room service was a disaster—our food took 3 hours and arrived at 2 AM. The only good part was the bar and restaurant staff, who were excellent. But after everything we went through, we received zero compensation. This was my first trip to Mexico, and this resort ruined it. Do not stay here.
