Very slow check in process, long lines, and only one front desk employee checking people in. Lots of renovation and construction going on was an eye sore. Advertised pool and no pool. Room was supposed to be equiped with safe and no room safe.

We always like to stay at this hotel while in Red Deer. The hotel is going thru renovations, however still the same great service, above and beyond. The new renovations are very nice.

For the price it was alright although, my wife and I would not stay there again. The poor guy, when we checked in, was all by himself trying to do his best to book people in. There was a long lineup and it took us 30min to check in. No support staff to help him. Finally got settled in the room and the TV didn’t work and we had to move everything to the other room, which the man at the desk not only was checking in, had to come up to the room to help us with the TV. Good on him, they should give him a raise. The upgraded hotel…. Is not very good from my prospective.

We were on the second floor which has newly renovated rooms. So that was the a plus! The pool is dingy and dated and looks like it could use a good cleaning. The tiles in the pool were grimy and you could see build up. The staff was friendly enough but slow and not overly knowledgeable.

Sandman is always a safe bet. Good properties. The only thing that was less than ideal was the fan noise: there are no vents in the room for air circulation, and instead the temperature is controlled by an older unit installed in the wall. I found it to be incredibly noisy, especially when trying to sleep at night.
