I cannot express how unsafe we felt during our stay at Hotel Alexis Park. Just steps from the hotel, there is an abandoned building that has become a haven for graffiti and homeless individuals, many of whom appeared to be using drugs. We experienced two attempted break-ins on our vehicle, and we have video evidence to prove it.
The environment was so alarming that we decided to leave the very next day for a safer location. To make matters worse, when we approached the manager about our concerns and requested a refund for the nights we didn’t stay due to safety reasons, he flatly refused.
This place is not suitable for families, especially with underage daughters. I will be reporting this situation as it is completely unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and avoid Hotel Alexis Park
The Alexis Park Hotel was a really good place for the price. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel grounds were clean and well kept. The only issue was outside of the property it was dirty and had a lot of homeless people. The reason I have them 5 stars is because the hotel owner can't control the homelessness. That job is supposed to be done by the city and they are doing a terrible job. SF homelessness is getting out of control.
Overall our hotel stay was great and very close to where we needed to be. Another great benefit was parking was free!

Very nice shower
The shower is amazing with jets and the rooms are very spacious.
I am lowering the rating of this hotel because upon check-in they ask for a credit card and make a copy of it on a Xerox machine on both sides, which I consider unacceptable and safe, anyone who receives this sheet will be able to use the card (all data including CVV remains on the copy). If suddenly from my card *1523 they start withdrawing money that I did not make, I will immediately remember the actions of the hotel staff. The hotel itself is located not so far from the center, but there are a lot of homeless people on the streets, although this is more likely a problem not only for the hotel. There is free parking on the territory, but there may not be enough parking spaces. The room itself is clean, expectations met.
The only good thing I have to say about this place is the parking, which was still not that great! The house keepers were very invasive, in early morning before check out a house keeper peaked through our window to see if we were in there. Then one of the other guest had a house keeper open their room while they were in there without permission asked! I sleep on my left side and when I woke up from one night of sleeping in that bed I broke out with acne on that side of my face. I decided not to even use the shower bc there was mold in it. The receptionist was rude and impatient and he seemed annoyed to even be helping. The area surrounding is definitely not the safest. Bc of that we were worried about having a safe night sleep. Overall it was the opposite of clean and both the homeless and workers were not making us feel welcomed. We are travelers on a budget and this is the worse place we’ve ever been to!!
