There wasn't much to like. Neighborhood is rundown, homeless everywhere, drunks and druggies all around. Hotel had a shared bathroom, which was not advertised during booking. I had to pay extra $30/day to have in-room bathroom. Plumbing is faulty, pipes are clogged. Constant loss noise at night, Windows are single pane, blinds don't close all the way, elevator is broken, have to walk up and down the stairs. Coffee machine in the lobby is broken, drinking water dispenser works but no cups, have to ask staff for a single cup every time. Bedding and towels aren't replaced daily. Door to the room opens but doesn't easily close, you must lift it up before pushing in, and the deadlock doesn't fit the hole, so you can't lock the door. This wouldn't be normal seven in 20th century, maybe in 19th, somewhere in third-world country.

It was in a horrible location surrounded by homeless people In tents everywhere.

The Warfield Hotel is nice on the outside, and a little small in the inside. While I’m not a fan of the shared shower, it was not a hassle. Our room did get a little warm at night, but there was a fan for us and we opened the windows so it was breezy and kept it cool. Staff was friendly and accommodating. While it’s not their fault, I did not like the druggies/bums outside all day and a chunk of the night. Witnessed one too many drug deals.

Didn’t know this hotel was in the worst part of San Francisco. Room looked nothing like it did in photo. Coming back from our venue at SHN, blood outside of hotel and got to watch a crack deal in front of us go down.
