The stay was great room was great. I only wish the curtains were a little bit darker so you could sleep. It was hard to sleep in the morning when the sun's shining on you. Other than that, the stay was wonderful. The bellhop gentleman at night was amazing. Very courteous and nice.

Decent hotel, nice staff, good view

The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was clean, but our towels had some questionable stains on them. Beds were super comfortable, and our view was great. My main complaint was with the hot water. It would only stay hot enough for one quick shower, so we had to time our showers more than an hour apart. Forget taking a bath, you'd get a couple of inches of water in the tub before it would run cold. One important thing to note about this location is that it is just one street over from the Tenderloin neighborhood. If you're not familiar with Tenderloin in San Francisco, google it. Literally one street over, the hotel is right on the border. So map out your route if you plan on exploring.

Really disappointed that the hotel refused to credit me for having less people in the room than I paid for. They count this as a change in reservations and no changes are allowed. The hotel staff was not able to accommodate me in any way to resolve this issue because I booked through Expedia. They would have helped make things right if I didn’t book through Expedia.

There was an insect in the room, and on the first night I had to sleep on dusty, unwashed sheets. The room hadn’t been cleaned and smelled stale. I understand this is an older hotel, but basic cleanliness should be maintained. The hotel advertised free breakfast, yet I was charged $38 for it. Staff claimed their verification machine was down and had guests sign receipts assuring we wouldn’t be billed—only to charge us later. On top of that, they charged $55 per night just for parking, which is outrageous. These kinds of extra charges should be clearly included in the nightly rate so guests can make an informed decision before booking. What if someone couldn’t afford these surprise fees? Overall, it was a horrible experience.
