Quiet hotel in nice area
The main hotel lobby and dining room were beautiful with art deco styling. Our room was comfortable in The Lodge across the road. Perfect bathroom and comfy bed. Just could have done with a sofa or chair oerhaps to relax in. Nice quiet area and very handy for walking into town about a mile away. Not sure why the title of the hotel states bear Minster though. Its near the race course! Would stay here again.

Our one night stay was lovely. Fuss free, early check in with a cheeky upgrade, the room was clean, warm and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great the next morning. £18 for 24hr parking at the school. A short walk into York centre.

Leaking ceilings!
Lovely spacious room. Problem with water dripping thru the ceiling because upstairs guests ( above our room) decided to have a bath/ shower and water came cascading into our room. However hotel dealt with the issue professionally and quickly; otherwise rest of our stay was great!

We loved that the hotel was in walking distance of the town centre, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle so was quiet at night. Felt safe, room was clean and a big room so great for the three of us sharing.
