Very nice renovation of old motel with great decorating. Fixtures, doors, furniture very nice and functional. Comfortable bed and nice shower. Room and property very clean. Room quiet except for when train goes through town. Signage is poor and it is not clear were to park to check in and unload. The area for this has bad traffic flow. Parking long term is across the street in fenced lot that is easy access. Breakfast was petrified eggs soupy oatmeal and no fresh coffee. Location great for walking to lakefront or downtown to restaurants.

The location is great - I enjoyed walking by the waterfront, and being so close to the bars and restaurants downtown. The decor in the room was nice too.

Room was clean, wifi was good, neighbourhood at night was quiet apart from the odd freight train. The circulating fans on the roof were annoying the first night. If that sort of noise bothers you I suggest ask not to be on the top (fifth) floor. Staff were efficient but not overly friendly. The breakfast - even for an economical hotel - could do with a refresh.

The location is poor. Biker type bar kitty corner, dirty area, questionable folk wandering around. We looked at it, felt it waa unsafe and left the area for a better hotel by the airport.

The hotel appears to be updated in their pictures however that is not the case. It’s located in a terrible area of town and the windows and doors are not sound proof. You hear everything going on outside the 4 walls of your room.

We chose the Superior Shores hotel because it had an interesting website and was on the waterfront in Thunder Bay The hotel has had a recent upgrade. The art work in the room we had was wonderful and done by local artists. Check in was efficient, the staff were friendly. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The downtown area where the hotel is situated is not the safest but it is close to some good restaurants. We would recommend it and would stay there again.

We stayed three nights. The hotel was clean and comfortable but it's not far from the tracks and we could hear trains at all hours. Recommended, as long as you're not bothered by the sound of trains.

Stayed five days . Noticed hairs left on shower walls. Told front desk hairs were still there after five days. Other issues were floor not cleaned , toilet not cleaned, sink not cleaned, counter not cleaned, towels not supplied . Mentioned cleanliness every day to front desk yet nothing improved. Last morning had to ding breakfast staff to get spoons , butter put out. Overall a disappointing stay for a Best Western affiliated hotel.
