Maison Valentina-large independent apt near the Biennale with patio and terrace
Lovely and comfortable home positioned near the Biennale Art Expo (Giardini).
The property is for your exclusive use and is spread over three floors, with a tavern, living room, kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, patio, and terrace.
A few steps from a lively street full of little restaurants, bars, groceries, and the morning fish, fruit and veggie market.
The nearby beautiful seafront promenade will enchant you with the spectacular view of Piazza San Marco
On the ground floor, you will find the tavern with a large table to accommodate even some friends. The sofa can be transformed into a bed for two other sleeps and the access to an exclusive bathroom.
Very nice also the private courtyard where to spend some pleasant moments of relaxation.
On the first floor, there\'s a warm and comfortable living room with a satellite flat TV, the dining room and the kitchen. You will also enjoy the nice little and sunny terrace.
On the second floor, there are 2 bedrooms and the bathroom. The first bedroom has a king-size bed and, the second, 2 single beds.
On certain dates of the year, visitors must pay an access fee of EUR 5-10 per person per day to enter Venice. Those with accommodation in Venice are exempt from paying this. Guests must however request an exemption voucher in advance and present it with an identity document on arrival. To check affected dates, fees and request an exemption, visit cda.ve.it/en/.
The property is 3 levels so be prepared for stairs. We ended up leaving our luggage on the first floor. The property is conveniently located to the Giardini water bus station. The neighborhood, while quiet at night, does have restaurants, a grocery store, and other amenities close by. The owner was very responsive to us and very helpful.
My only issue with this property is the mold in the first floor bathroom and the surly cleaning lady who kept coming back to yell at us in Italian and kick us out even though we had made arrangements for a late checkout.
The location was perfect for us as we were going to the Biennale. The street is very quiet and there's good food shopping nearby and it's very convenient for transport. In the summer with windows open it might be noisy in the back and on the terrace as the house next door is also let and has an outdoor terrace. The house is decently equipped in a simple good elegant style, the beds were very comfortable but there were no drying up cloths and no instructions for how to work the dishwasher or anything else and some of the mosquito screens were broken. Also, with a quality rental such as this, I think all the beds should be made up (you never know people's sleeping habits) and there should be two pillows per person not one! We were three, my husband and I slept upstairs in the king bed and the third person had to sleep on the sofa bed in the entrance hall to be near the bathroom . Older people need their own bathrooms! We ate in every night and the cooking equipment was fine for simple meals but there were hardly any serving dishes or cutlery. The living room was agreeable and comfortable so it was a very pleasant place to come home to relax in. I would certainly return though the bedroom arrangements are such that it would suit a family better than a group of friends.
