Twin Lakes: Tetonka and Sakatah Dock, Kayaks, Lakeside Firepit.
Beautiful large 6 bedroom corner home with Lake Tetonka access capable of sleeping up to18. The public beach is a 200 yard walk over a wooden bridge that crosses the beginnings of the Cannon River. Close to downtown and to Sakatah State Trail for biking and hiking. Many lakes close by for fishing and boating. Small hometown feel. Also close to largest waterpark in southern Minnesota less than 1 mile away at Kamp Dels. There is a dock, lakeside fire pit, and kayaks available most weekends. We also have a 660 square foot game room above the garage complete with sofa bed, love seat, billiard table, card tables, air hockey, and a 1952 wood rail pinball machine. Bring your fishing gear, swim suits, pool cues, and life jackets and enjoy!
The house was large and homey. It has some quirks, but was very nice for our large group. The beds are very soft, and the water can get scalding hot. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with spices/dry goods/ and a good assortment of cookware. A nice selection of fun plates that my toddler enjoyed. The location is great for access to Kamp Dels and downtown. We appreciated the lake access and dock, but found better swimming a quick drive away at Lake Francis. Our group enjoyed the easy access to bike trails and big green space. The game room was awesome and nice that it is separate from the main house. Greg was a very responsive host and we had a great time in Waterville.
Welcoming. We had a group of 9 and would have loved to have another couch or a lazy boy rocker/recliner and comfy chair. We had a 1 year old used to being rocked to sleep, so we moved one of the outdoor rockers into the house for bedtime. Our stay was not so much a vacation as a family reunion, so we spent most of our time and meals at my brother's house across the lake on North Shore Rd. We had to drive to his place to do a pontoon boat ride as water at the vrbo's dock was too shallow and he didn't want to risk tearing up bottom of his pontoon. Kitchen was fully stocked for cooking/serving food but we did not need anything other than coffee mugs and forks and spoons and one fry pan for our breakfast. The VRBO did have coffee, filters, sugar but we used our own coffee. Kitchen also appeared to be stocked with common spices for cooking. We did not get a chance to use game room above the garage, it did look inviting or the firepit area, again spent our days at my brother's home only came back to vrbo to sleep. Greg, the host, answered any questions we had by the end of the day. We were not familiar with this key lock but finally figured out how to lock up when we checked out. If you plan a larger group know seating is limited for dining indoors and watching TV. Note, arrive early to hit the grocery store, it closes at 5:00 p.m. We were about 45 minute drive to Mall of America, which was on the bucket list for half of our group who had never been there. We will return.
The VRBO was a wonderful spacious home for our family to stay. We enjoyed a beautiful campfire by the lake with our grandchildren. Also, our 6 year old grandson learned how to kayak. The game room above the garage was also a great time. Lots of fun was had!
I would like to let you know that we had a wonderful time in many ways. We even had room in the yard to play games. Many of us used the kayaks, the games above the garage, playing basketball, fishingâŠwe also enjoyed the sandy public beach and the public playground. I should also mention that the neighbors were very kind and friendly. And it was obvious that the people in the neighborhood were very careful as they drove nearbyâConscious of children. SO SENDING THANKS FROM THE OFSTEDAHLS!
Beautiful property. Much needed week away with family and young grandchildren. We were able to take advantage of the location. Local parks for the grand daughters and a field trip to the Schellâs Brewery for the adults. Two lakes to enjoy. One close by and the other very close. Local Kamp Dells is one of the best area resorts that does Day Passes during the week for fun and games.Space in yard allowed for us to have yard games and water table for the littles. Porch provided area out of the sun, and the game room above the garage was great for late night entertainment for adults.Much more house than our group needed, but 2 yr old grand daughter LOVED âherâ Winnie the Pooh room and her birthday party while we were there. We were having difficulty finding property that would allow family pets, and were excited to find this one.Excellent communication from owner before booking, before our stay and during the stay. Thank you Greg!
House was perfect size to celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary. When booking be aware the price is for 4 people. For every additional person there is a charge at the end. We needed this location so even though I tried to look for something cheaper there wasnât much. The kids LOVED the game room. It was great for a rainy day to keep them busy and the stereo was perfect. Kids had fun fishing and caught a few walleye and sunfish but the lake is not the best for swimming. It gets very green and we even saw blue green algae. Took a walk to the public beach and it was ok but didnât look great so we opted to go to camp dells for swimming. Some rooms had good curtains and shades while others barely had anything so if you want to sleep in it can be hard when the sun rises early.
Great space to get together and catch up, yet also big enough if you needed a little alone time.Loved the flat iron grill outside, the game room, and the well stocked kitchen.
We came for a family gathering, coming from Alaska, Colorado, and Minnesota. The house was perfect for our group. We had two year olds to 70-year-olds and it was the perfect set up. Gregory is an awesome host, very responsive and accommodating. The house is beautifully equipped. We cooked dinners for our group of 11 and had everything we needed. We walked to the swimming beach, to town, and The Cool Wave coffee shop. I would definitely go back and highly recommend this wonderful property.
Enjoyed a long weekend with our children and grandchildren, celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. Enjoyed the lake, boating and kayaking. Perfect space for our family. Grandkids really enjoyed the game room.
Four Morgan siblings had a mini reunion back in Southern MN, where our father grew up and we used to vacation every summer 50-60 years ago. Nice big house, close to, but not on, the lake (as the ad seemed to imply). But very happy with our stay. If and when we head back to MN in the future, I would look for this property again, and isn't that the bottom line? And don't worry, the game room does have pool cues, even though the ad says to bring your own. Recommended.
First off, the house is wonderful. Huge kitchen, wonderful living room which is a great hang out, and the porches are really nice too.
Tons of bedrooms and all of them are really nice.
Greg is great to work with. Check in and out was simple. We will definitely stay here again!
The property and house were very nice. Our only concerns are the downstairs bathroom toilet has issues with backing up without anyone doing anything other than a number one in it. Also, the cabinet above the refrigerator looks like it is going to detach itself from the wall? Everything else was as described and very clean.
We booked this property because it was reasonably priced for the size, and we were pleased to find it had everything we needed and more. The beds were not the most comfortable, and there were a few cobwebs and spiders (to be expected near the lake), but it definitely met our expectations! Would stay again.
Overall we loved the house and the area. The back porch was our favorite place to spend time, even in the rain! The game room was great for hanging out and despite the major flooding in the area, we were still able to get out on the lake and enjoy the kayaks. Greg was a fantastic host and was very responsive to my questions throughout the weekend.
Our only complaint was that the living room and game room did not have sofa beds as was advertised in the listing so we had less beds than expected.
We felt so badly for the folks dealing with flooding that started during our stay, and hope we contributed a bit to the local businesses. Greg worked with us the entire time. The vacation home was perfect for our family reunion with the many bedrooms and game room over the garage. We spent many hours there and playing board games in the spacious living room after cooking up several meals in the fully equipped kitchen. While we missed many outdoor opportunities--fishing, kayaks, park hikes--due to flooding, we had lots of quality family time. Thanks Greg, and best wishes for you and your family!
Enjoyed this home very much. It has a great living room to sit and visit as well as a game room so we could spread out. Close to the lake, short distance to a swimming beach. Property owner was easy to reach and responded in a timely manner. We had a very relaxing weekend.
Communication was excellent with the owner. The home was very comfortable spacious and just had that homey feeling. We had a very busy weekend with the wedding. I wish we had more time to enjoy the home and the neighborhood. This will definitely be our first choice if we are back in the area.
