We didn’t get any information, no brochures letting us know what was nearby. Very challenging getting around the property with luggage. Had to call the front desk twice for coffee pods, they were never replaced after day one. Housekeeping showed up when we were leaving at 11:30 with coffee pods. I would not recommend this place

I attended a banker's conference at this resort in early October, The place was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The service was excellent and the food options, although limited on-site, were very good.

The property is beautiful but a bit of a maze. This sprawling estate has a lot of charm and interesting twists and turns, both inside and out. It might not be for everyone (especially if you have trouble with stairs) but we really liked staying there. My only small complaint was that finding an ice machine and then finding my way back to the room was definitely a challenge. My wife uses a walker and has trouble with stairs but the staff was awsome and found us a room without stairs. I have stayed there twice and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Also the connected restaurant "Goose Feather" was absolutely delicious. I loved the "Smashed fingerling potatoes" Not the cheapest restaurant by far but the food is definitely worth the price IMHO.

Not Your Usual Hotel

This was an amazing place over winding roads up in the wooded hills above Tarrytown. It consisted of contrasts, two old mansions joined by Motel 6 like wings, landscaped grounds with fountain full of stagnant water, on site very good restaurants, and a short drive to Tarrytown Station where you can park overnight as supposedly the Ubers are unreliable.

Shockingly Bad. My friend and I splurged on a $400-a-night room and checked in expecting a luxury girls-night experience. The room we got was on the bottom floor of a 1970s annex that felt like a basement and, worst of all, the bathroom had gross pink mold and dirty stained walls; YUCK! I called the front desk, but after being left on hold for 10 minutes, I gave up, took photos and schlepped back up several flights of stairs to the fifth-floor front desk (the elevator only goes up to the 3rd floor). The clerk said that due to 2 weddings that night, the hotel was completely sold out. A few minutes later, however, he somehow found us another room. Unfortunately, this bathroom also had some mold but since it wasn’t as bad as the first room—and we had been told the hotel was sold out—we felt we had to take it. The next morning, we were further disgusted when we saw ANTS coming out of the moldy hole in the bathroom; NASTY! When we checked out, we shared our experience with the manager who reluctantly apologized and asked us to email him the photos and videos, saying he had to speak to his manager. Twenty-four plus hours later, still no word from them despite another follow up email. Do yourself a favor: save yourself some serious disappointment and lots of money and stay somewhere else.

We are disappointed that upon check-in we found out that the outdoor pool is closed for the season, the restaurant and bar were also closed for a private function. It would be nice to know these things ahead of time.

The grounds were beautiful, restaurant was in the higher price range but the food was delicious, the rooms were clean. It had just rained and was very humid in the area, so the rooms did feel almost damp and have an earthy smell. But it was expected for the age and style of hotel.

Our room was quite a distance from the check-in area and the parking lot-a good 8-10 minute walk. The steps leading down to the building where our room was located were uneven and not illuminated for night entrance. Staff was very friendly and helpful though
