It was a nice place, parking was a little hectic but it's Chicago. The valet was worth it. I am still waiting for my deposit to be refunded. But other than that it was nice and a beautiful view of the Sears tower at night

While the Drake is a beautiful old hotel, it is in dire need of updating. The doors stick, the ice machines are always empty, you have to request a refrigerator. My room reeked of cigarettes and had to be aerated. The plumbing is a patched job and the water tap wouldn’t shut off. While we reported to the staff, they didn’t seem to care. So sad, as it’s a great location to the beach and shopping.

Beautiful hotel in a great location that makes it easy to walk everywhere. Beds are EXTREMELY comfy, we slept great and would wake up feeling well rested after a 10-12 hour day out on the town. Soundproof rooms, we never heard our neighbors once during our stay!

It was a good stay for lollapalooza but was just a bit disappointed with service— we gave our bags to be brought to the room and it took over 30 minutes to arrive after my friend called the front desk to remind them as well as housekeeping being slightly disorganized in asking if we wanted service specifically on our last day we were woken up by house keeping at 8:30 and then received another knock from housekeeping after 10am which is odd considering we check out at 12pm so that was just a bit inconvenient— i completely understand the hotel must have been at high occupancy with the festival and cubs games— just wish the experience was a bit better

The Drake is a very beautiful hotel. It is convenient to many things especially the Gold Coast. It was a quick walk to and from. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable.

Good time

Pretty good. Lived the convenience of being downtown and able to walk where ever. No fridge or microwave - $100 worth of food had to be trashed. Bathroom door kept getting stuck. Downstairs restaurant food is amazing.

The Drake Hotel offers a blend of old-world charm that's hard to find in modern accommodations. From the moment you step into the lobby, the grandeur of a bygone era is evident—ornate ceilings, rich woodwork, and a sense of history that gives the place real character. That said, the suites and some common areas could use a little refresh and would go a long way toward enhancing the overall experience without sacrificing the hotel’s historic appeal. Still, the attentive staff, prime location, and undeniable sense of place make The Drake a memorable stay. If you appreciate classic architecture and the stories of the past, you’ll likely find the charm outweighs the minor imperfections.

We liked the staff and their willingness to help, and appreciated the view of Lake Michigan and the cleanliness of the property, especially our room. We did not care for the fact that our key cards stopped working after one use nor did we like that there was no luggage pickup before 7 am. Also, the only phone in the room was on the far side of the bed, next to the wall. We would have liked a less dark and noisy choice of a place to have dinner on the premises than the Coq d'Or. But the waiter was nice.
