Summary:

We are Mekano, an apartment hotel located in Sydhavn, a young and evolving district of Copenhagen shaped by its industrial waterfront. The fully equipped apartments, housed on the lower level of a factory-inspired building, reflect the area’s raw, functional character through their interiors and material details. With easy self check-in and access to our hotel services during the stay, we aim to keep travel practical and uncomplicated.



The Space:

This studio apartment is set up for up to two guests and is located on the elevated ground floor of the building, with a small lift available for these initial steps. The layout includes a combined living and kitchen area with a sleeping space, a dining table for two, and a balcony with seating for two. The apartment has been designed with care and set up as a functional, fully equipped home.

→ Comfort: Shared laundry facilities with washing machines and dryers, in unit iron and ironing board, eco-friendly household cleaning products (hand soap, detergent, and dishwasher tablets)



Luggage can be stored free of charge in individual, code-secured lockers located at the building’s main entrance, where the laundry facilities are also situated. The building has its own character, and while amenities are consistent across apartments, layouts may vary slightly.



Guest Access:

Our concept is simple: the apartments are fully equipped and carefully designed, accessed through easy self check-in with a personal code, and supported by a 24/7 online reception for anything needed before or during the stay.



Extra services can be arranged through our Guest Hub, including additional housekeeping, late check-out (available for purchase until 1pm, depending on availability), and baby cribs and high chairs at no charge. Free mid-stay cleaning can be arranged for visits of eight nights or more.



The Neighborhood:

Sydhavn, or South Harbor, is a vibrant neighborhood in Copenhagen that blends its industrial heritage with modern urban living. Once an industrial district, it has transformed into a lively area known for its contemporary architecture, art spaces, and waterfront views. With old warehouses repurposed into apartments, cafes, and galleries, Sydhavn features many inner harbors and bathing spots, perfect for summer swims or joining locals in chilly winter-bathing dips and sauna. Copenhagen is known for its food scene, and we keep restaurant and café recommendations in our Guest Hub. We’re also happy to help with suggestions or assist with bookings.



Getting Around:

Mekano is located close to Mozart Plads metro station, with direct connections to the city center in around 7 minutes and to Copenhagen Airport in approximately 30 minutes. The surrounding area includes cafés, bars, and supermarkets, and sits close to the waterfront. From here, harbor baths and boat connections provide access to the inner city by water as well.



Other Things to Note:

There is ongoing construction activity in the surrounding area, and noise levels may be higher than usual during working days. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the premises, and pets are not permitted.
