Overall great hotel - If you're like us and are happy to walk everywhere around a city break, it's in a perfect location with great restaurants and shopping in the area (public transport is right there as well). Staff were very polite, professional and spoke excellent English. The hotel rooms were very clean and spacious and nicely decorated and also had everything we needed. The hotel lobby / bar toilets are not very well located as walking past them on two seperate days they had a bad smell coming from them into the lobby area. The hotel room is advertised as sound proof and whilst this was mostly true, the wooden floors of the bedrooms allow for heavy footsteps from above, I must add that those sounds are slightly dampened and it wasn't constant so didn't end up being a problem, but I think that's more dependant on the guest above you.

Overall experience was very good, staff were helpful albeit some quite green employees who weren't trained as well as they could be, and leaving them on duty is not ideal as there is a limit to what they can do. Building was beautiful and bar areas was lovely but very expensive with some average cocktail choices so had to ask for more specific ones. We had issues with the room temperature, the fans would turn on and not pump out heat, even with it off, it was on. So the room temperature was impossible to maintain a good temperature as radiator was temperamental and behind curtain in far corner of room under window. Unfortunately the pillows in the room were really poor, only two with no spares to choose, one was lumpy and the other was okay, but very small. TV and other bathroom facilities were excellent including coffee machine. Overall was good, especially location and price. Just need to fix a few issues.

The hotel was great, very clean and looked really cool inside the rooms and in the bar area. I had an issue with my heating not working at all, I struggled to convince the staff and made them come up to see for themselves and they finally believed me. The first night I received a loud small fan heater, the second night I received a separate radiator type portable heater. It wasn’t ideal however they said the hotel was full (I had to ask whether I could change rooms). The staff were helpful but also made me seem like I was crazy at times. Not ideal as I paid a lot of money for this hotel and no one came to fix the heating the whole 4 nights, and they didn’t offer me anything like a drink at the bar etc.

Location, convenience and quality

This hotel is in a fantastic location. 2 minutes walk from the Rådhuspladsen, 5 minutes walk from Copenhagen Central and bang in the middle of Indre By and that makes it perfect for exploring the centre of this most beautiful and intriguing cities. My room was on the first floor and overlooked the busy but friendly Studiestræde. It was a compact but comfortable room with a small bathroom. The room had a nice amount of storage, plus a small fridge for a bottle of water and milk and other drinks. A very comfortable bed, though the duvets were not quite big enough for myself. The shower provided steaming water and was of good presssure to ensure a good clean. The staff here are friendly and exceedingly helpful and knowledgeable.

The Wide Hotel was a perfect choice for our break in Copenhagen, lovely well appointed and cosy base very near transport networks and also within easy walking distance of the city centre. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We had the breakfast option on our room rate which was also an added bonus, hot and cold options in an abundance. Many thanks to all the staff who made the visit an exceptional experience
