Lovely first time staying at holiday inn East Kilbride. Reception staff was friendly and helpful at check in. Room was very spacious and beds comfy. Lovely touch of chocolate and crisps, water also in room arrival.

Great check-in, a smile, friendly efficient service from a new member of staff, with an experienced colleague on hand. Room was superficially clean - linen and towels good, bathroom mainly ok, but floor was needing more attention. This room needs a deeper clean - skirting boards were dirty and dusty. There was broken crockery, cleaned and back on the tray and a broken lamp. The price was fair, we stay regularly but not frequently, but will consider other options next time. NB we had a dog and happily paid the additional cleaning charge. But the cleanliness issues were definitely not canine. The housekeepers probably do not have much time to turn rooms around, but better deeper cleaning is required. Breakfast fair,, other than poor hot drinks - half cups of not hot enough water.

Overall I had a pretty good stay at EK Holiday Inn. There’s a gym and a pool, it also includes sauna, steam room and hot tub. The restaurant is quite nice, simple menu but everything was quite tasty, also breakfast included continental and hot British food. I was also really happy with the staff, everyone was nice and helpful both at the hotel and the gym. There’s a couple of things that really bothered me tho, otherwise it would have been a 4 stars review: WiFi was awful, almost didn’t work at all, couldn’t entertain myself unable to watch anything on my laptop or phone, also the reception of my phone wasn’t good there so I was kinda counting on an average connection that would work decently, there was cable tv in the room but it didn’t work. I went to ask if I could upgrade and pay for better WiFi since they had a private connection but the receptionist said it wasn’t possible… the other thing is the most important, which is cleanliness standards. The rug was dusty and had stains on it, there was dust a bit everywhere, on the lamps, in the bathroom ventilation grid, inside the wardrobe along with hair and socks that probably belonged to the previous person that was in the room (gross), the bedsheet smelled, once again, DUSTY, and there was that orangey slime in the shower that makes me think they haven’t properly cleaned it (I also found the lid of some hair product in the shower). Towels only got changed once in 3 days. I didn’t say anything to not be rude to the staff.

The room was dated and not clean with broken lampshades and black mould around shower. Day 1 no tea or coffee provided in room. Morning staff were lovely however evening bar staff had long way to go to reach same standards. Made me feel I was an inconvenience interrupting her conversation to serve a drink. Hotel was adequate at best. Would not go back.
